Protesting Bush's inauguration

Because areas with heavy population (LA, NYC, any major city) vote overwhelmingly for the democrats. Therefore, placing the emphasis on popular vote will give the dems an undue advantage. Take a look:

dude if you abolish the electoral college and just go by the person who gets the most vots wins, how would it matter whether urban areas vote democrat or not?

el gato, but the person who gets the most overall votes (not electoral college votes) does not always win. so really it is not by the people.
and ec-tom....why should people stop bitching..did you read none of the comments? its their right and responsability to protest what they believe is unfair.
another problem with representative gov't is... how do you pick who is responsable for what region? and who do you pick to represent that region...from what side (dem or rep) gets to sit and speak for the region?

Karl Rove is an absolute political genius. He knew that religion and 'moral values' would be the deciding factor of the election. A lot of people that voted Bush even said that those were the single most important factors when choosing a president.
People that are protesting are doing so because they feel that there were other issues that needed tending to before something such as gay marriage.
Telling someone not to protest is rediculous. It's their right to say something if they disagree. Believe me, if kerry was elected the 'pro-life' people would be out protesting.

All you people argueing that bush was elected democratically and we should stop bitching are neglecting the fact that because it is a democracy and our idiot president was democratically elected we have the democratic right to protest. Why should we shut up because it's over?
Look on the bright side: There was that one dude who killed himself over bush getting reelected; maybe some cult will do a mass suicide along with an assasination.

Correction: The majority of Germans didnt have anything to do with hiter coming to power, some stupid officials put him in for what would be a temporary puppeteering thing. I forget why, but yea, then hitler passed that bill saying he could make his own laws so that he could build the economy or whatever.
