how do you/they do it? I just read the new freeskier in which Liam (he was the only one from this site I recognized so I am wondering if he will answer) said he was going to Bates College or something but would still make all the major comps/events? How the crap can you people ski and go to school with good grades?

I'm just working my schedule so that I can ski 5 days a week or so. I am planning on going to school for both semesters and then taking the short term off to do spring competitions and photoshoots. Hopefully everything will work out and I will get a bunch of skiing done during the week like I did in high school.

 
classes are overrated liam. ski unless you have a test or a mandatory lab, that's what i did and i'll grad with a 3.2 next semester. pick an easy major too that helps

Hall did his last year of high school as correspondence when he went all super duper and stuff. But he has no post-secondary I don't think and he's kinda stupid and stuff.

Strode...Bates college isn't exactly a walk in the park...it's one of the best colleges in the country. I don't think you can skip every nontest/lab class and do that well.

The key is location. I live in bozeman, bridger bowl is a 20 min drive, so Im going to schedual my classes so that I can ski half days everyday.

The key is doing the work that you absolutely have to, and dividing the rest of your time between skiing and having fun. It's going to be just like high school but I don't live at home and I can do whatever I want whenever I want to. I'd rather go to school than get a year-round job.

Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Haagen-Das ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make smores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Captain Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons.
 
Steele goes to college and still manages to ski - he goes 2 quarters (late summer and fall) and takes winter, spring and summer off to ski. He goes to the Art Institute - Graphic Design. Watch for his work in his segement in RFA - that's all his art and design in the background, plus he's getting do do all the design for his pro model 4frnt ski. school is def worth the effort and you can make it work.

 
fuck school just sell drugs then u make heaps of money and can ski when ev u want and sell on the hill make good money and then your lauging just watch out for cops and that u don't smoke the pounds of weed u buy as I have one before cuse then u go broke for weeks a a time

location location location. BC, Utah, Colorado, even Ottawa will work out pretty well if you wanna go to school and go to college. And if you're really into it, school summer/fall, ride winter.

at this point I am really wishing I went to a college that is located near some good mtns. But yeah liam man, dont think it is just like high school. I picked a couple of tough majors to double in and I have tons of work every night just to stay afloat :) But yeah, much props to all who attend college (a good one) and still find time to ski. btw, for whomever said it above, it is schedule, not schedual :)

yeah if i could chose my college over again i would of. I am in Connecticut right now. and i get pissed off all the time. I should of went to school up in vermont or something. But my major is the shit (communications and technology) I barely do shit, and when I do its alot of hands on classes. Like I have a class on final cut pro right now, its pretty sweet

The key is this. go to Utah. you can go to class in the morning be done by 11 and ski all afternoon. then go to night class at 6. if your parents are all about school you can make it happen. Symms for example is taking 18 credits now in the fall and then 12 or 9 in the spring, and he is on academic scholorship. that means that he has to hold a 3.7, and he does.

man i personally think if your pro you should def try to get to college, i mean damit your job is a pro skier godamit! All you do is party and ski!
