Warren miller is one of the only movie production companies which directly pay their athletes...any other money made by a pro is from sponsors or competition winnings.

When MSP came to boulder for ski movie 3 i got to talk to steve winter. He said that warren miller pays skiers $50 a day. But MSP can't afford to. The pros get money for screen time from their sponsors. A lot like photo inscentive.

sponsors give money to filmmakers, the sponsors ask the filmmakers to film their atheletes. The athletes get money from the sponsors for their exposure in the video, the sponsors make money off the atheletes exposure in the vid by people going out and buying what they see their favorite pro wearing. So the filmmakers are getting money from the sponsors, the skiers are getting money from the sponsors and the sponsors are getting that money back from the buying public.

MSP could easy afford to pay there athletes if they wanted to, there such a big compainy and make movies for BIking, snowboarding, Dirtbiking and skiing, and compaird to Warren Miller who just makes on snow movies. Its just a matter of what way the want to do things, not what msp can affored...

Tgr makes Two or three movies for each sport every year. Hell ya they can afford to pay their athletes.
