Pros don't do as good in comps, WHY?

i've been watching the x-games slopestyle lately and halfpipe on expn.com and i don't get why all the pros dont do as good. like CR's bios for instance in the slopestyle were like, bio for like the first 360, then he came right out of it and spun another 720 on axis. His bios in high society are so sick tho. tanner's switch rodeo 9 wasn't as good either. Jon olson's d-9 was good but not as good as usual. why is all of this?

 
'cause as much as you want them to be they arn't robots and the shit you see in video's is when they do shit perfectly, you don't get to do run after run till you land everything perfectly, so they make sure that they land their shit, sometimes they gotta play it safe and not throw down as big.

but have you seen any footage from the US Open Big Air? dont' bitch about CR not pushing it in competitions - he stomped the shit out of a huge bio 1260.

yeah also, the pipe at the x games was on a steep slope, and lots of the time they will only get to do 2 warm up runs cause the people running the comps dont want the crowd to leave before the comp starts

also they can't go as big as they can every single element on a slopestyle course because if they fall they're toast, and they play it conservative sometimes.

that slopestyle coarse looked sooooooo slow.. like the skiers were desperately trying to get speed

ya it did look pretty slow they had to sling them out of the gate, with like 3 guys pushing them, hopefully they fix it this year.

cr's bio 1260 was sick. He does'nt stay in bio for that long. but its a bio 1260 and he stomped it so good. i dont know how you can stomp something that good after spinning so hard. it was amazing.

theres a natural mystic flowing through the air if you listen carefully now you will hear. its the first trumpet calling. might as well be the last. many more will have to suffer many more will have to die dont ask me why. things are not the way they used to be.
 
Ya, like Darryl said, the vids are a whole year worth of skiing with only the best shots making the cut. Comps are just instant.

You know the jumps they pull in comps, they pull tons of those during the year, you just dont see them unless your there.

Lets see, brand new jump, you get a couple practice hits, the landing is probably shitty, there's a 1000+ people watching you, and you need throw down your best trick. Tonnes of pressure, some people probably don't handle it as well as other people. I know i get the shakes really bad before a competition, and sometimes i choke completely.

the way that athletes are presented in videos has a lot to do with it. when you see everything in real time, at proper speed and without music it doesn't look as good.

NOT ALL JUMPS ARE CREATED EQUAL

When u see it in the vid it is the perfect jump for thatt trick and they have hit it more than twice and only the best gets into videos.

Do u know how much footage they dont use.
