Ok, from the new issue of Sbc Skier magazine, in an interview with Sarah Burke, you can read

'I've read messages on newschoolers.com from kids who say I suck and they hate me even though they dont know me, or how I've beaten myself to get where I am. That hurts'

Kiddos, we've been telling you to watch your ass out that it could hurt people, and you havent listen, I hope you will listen to the concern people, and not say crap as you have said before in thread such as 'Sarah or Kristy?'

when it comes that newschoolers is quoted to be dumb and hurt people, I think we should stop for a sec, and think about it.

Even if the stuff people say on this site is meant as a joke, or to make the poster seem cool, not everyone takes it that way. Her saying that basically makes it sound like people skiing, doing something she had a hand in creating, have no respect for those who have dedicated their lives to doing something they love.

I do have plenty of respect for Sarah, and I try not to badmouth skiers I don't know on here, but you kind of have to expect that you're going to have some people who love you and some who dislike you for no readily apparent reason. She's famous among people on this site; it's a microcosm of the sports world. Just as you'll see people calling any sports star a washed up useless jackass, you'll see people with rather negative opinions on skiers on this site. You need to have thick skin to have any reknown. I'm sorry to hear that she was hurt by something said on here, but there are three rules to remember:

1. Almost everyone on this site is an idiot, and shouldn't be listened to.

2. Never take anything seriously over the internet, compliment or insult.

3. If you don't want to hear it, don't read the forums. Ignorance is bliss.

Honestly, how would you feel if you had hundreds of kids talking trash about you online, even if they've never met you or given you a chance. Personally, I'd get upset with it after a while. As much as this is anonymous, you have to still think about what you're saying about who.

Personally, I think Sarah is a really nice and fun person, and an amazing skier. Whoever says otherwise better have a good reason to back it up.

^True JD, but it gets out of hand. No matter how thick your skin is, some things can get to you. Even if no one else thinks a negative comment could be taken seriously, someone more than likely will. If I was a pro, I'd be on this site constantly trying to find out what people looking up to me, or what I'm doing, think about me. It would piss off to see someone rag on me(joking or not) because skiing would be my job, and the way I make my money. Seeing some little punk the internet's comment, would get to me one way or another.

Of course Pros read NS, not only do pro’s read NS, they are members and I bet they have been members longer then you. Newschoolers.com is the best newschool skiing site in the world; all of the pros flock to NS because it is so reliable with Daily news and such.

To Sarah: You have to wake up and smell the roses, people on the Internet are fucking asswholes. They don’t know you and they are just jealous of your talent. The only people you have to worry about is your sponsors. You’re Family and friends will always back you up and that is most important. Most of the populations on NS are fags and they don’t know you, so it should matter what they think of you.

From what i have seen and heard so far on this site it seems that the problem is people often forget that pros r just normal people. Sure they ski way betta than most of us ever will but at the end of the day they r mere mortals. It seems many people place them on a pedestal above the general public and think of them as mere objects that they can say wat they like about. Next time ur watchin a ski movie rememba that unlike all otha movies the people on it r not actors, they r real life people and if u rag on them on NS its possible they'll read it and b geniunly hurt like any other normal person would b.peace
