Pros at your mountain

The novelty wears of pretty quickly.

Now running into pros in the back country is a different story and is by far easily 10 times better than seeing a pro in the park with you.

Being in the Midwest where pros are typically few and far between (except the seemingly more regular LTC crew visits) it is always really cool to see pros lapping. I'm not going to "pro-hoe" and follow their every move but if the chance arises to talk to them naturally or ride up the lift wit them, I won't shy away because I don't want to appear "too cool" or whatever. Pros are just like everyone else except they just happen to be a lot better than most people at skiing.

That being said, I've had a couple chances to shred with Will Wesson who is a super cool dude and really keeps to himself. Phil Casabon & crew (minus Henrik who was in Sweden) rolled through for the demo tour which was a blast seeing them go off in our park. I did get the chance to go to Windells this summer, obviously the pro count is through the roof but they were all there for the same reason we were, just to shred and have a good time with everyone. Got to talk to Steve a few times, pretty funny dude, Sander Hadley is the fuckin man, same goes to Dom Laporte. Nicky Keefer may be the nicest human being on the planet.

I'm going to be done rambling and go to bed. Fuck finals for making me stay this late.

Rode the chair with Jon Olson when he was decked out in full race gear at a nor-am race. Really nice guy, told me about super sessions and the team format before it even got announced.

Collin Collins is a regular coach here (Sun Valley), but we don't see Banks Gilberti or Karl Fosvedt here too often (both were born and raised here).

I watched Jossi Wells throw down on a snowboard at Hyland, that was tight. He was better than most of the people there.

I spoke to Tim Durtschi in the mens bathroom at Bourbon House the day after halloween. Kind of went like this..

"Dude, you look just like Tim Durtschi"

"Dude, I am Tim Durtschi"

Back to the point I see pros at Brighton on a daily basis. Much rather see them in the BC.

I've never seen a pro at my home mountain, Crystal Mountain, MI. But I've gotten to see Hornbeck ski, and basically he's like everybody else, but doing shit that nobody else does

I live in easter Pennsylvania, literally the middle of nowhere. The only pros that have ever been near my mountain were the Traveling Circus at Bear Creek.

Its cool when pros go to sunapee like Brady perron and those guys, but I'm honestly stoked to see anyone without a seasons pass in the park... Nobody goes to sunapee

went up the lift with nick martini and didn't realize it until a day later.

also went up with rob and jay heule while at cop when i was doing a course. super chill guy and has an epic mustache.
