Pros and Cons of Your skis

Scott P4 with a marker m14.0wide binding

BAD-> heavy ski to carry around / graphics on the 2007 are dull (2008 and 2009 are NICE)

Good -> everything else, it shreds everything, its heavy weight makes it bash trough crud like a snowplow and the wide base makes it floaterlicious on powderdays, the titanium matrix construction makes it bomber and the wood core gives it nice pop, the skis overall stability makes it great for tricky landings (backcountry and groomers)

+- its edge holding on groomers is very poor but imho thats part of the playfullnes of this ski, it skis more like a snowboard then it does like a ski....
 
That could also be attributed to your choice of binder. From my experience, marker biometric toe bindings are heavy SOB's
 
If they are heavy as fuck, they would in effect take a shorter time to get up to speed, due to momentum created by the forces of gravity. Unless you're sayin that P4's have shitty bases, which I can tell you, they dont... then... well.. i dont know what you're getting at...

He's probably pre-releasing because his bindings, or his boot-binding matchup, or something... or he just has his dins too low.
 
I'm like 6'1, 165... and I use Boone Freeride93 Magicsticks - 180cm

The most I can say about them is they are fucking light. I'm coming from a pair of 175 ARV's, and I still find these to be fucking retarded light. there pretty sick everywhere. not too stiff, soft enough to butter, hit rails really good, i have a bunch of days in on them and the bases arent even messed up... they float like any other 90+ ski in the powder, well but not godly well like some bents or anything. thy hold a good edge with solid vertical sidewalls. i love bamboo skis!

oh and the edges are strong as fuck. I hit a rail wrong at boreal last week and from the start, thought I was going to tear the edge out becasue of my angle to the rail, and how i've broken edges doing that same shit before. nope. shit didnt even chip. I was so stoked. So far, most durable skis i've owned.
