Pros and Cons of the 2009-2010 Park Year

That is a really well made point. However i just don't think that we can swing them that way... It is just soo much real estate for the Park to occupy, plus what would you have to look forward to for PFC? Haha just kidding.
There will be some new rails this season. At this very moment i can't say what they will be as i don't know yet. But rest assured we will be constructing some rails, and boxes.

Is it possible to put out some jibs in between that space of center stage and tuff enough? Just the ones that are not in the big park, we could hike it too. Just a thought.

You guys are forgetting that if the meadows was made into a park as well, there would be no noobs bombing down the hill to laugh at when they fall.

Yes yes this. Even though a park on that side would be nice too I agree with you shaggy. Orientals on rentals make a great edit filler.

Im sure the pros of having both blue lift runs as a park outweigh that of making fun of asians. Even though it can be funny at times..

Ha I understand it wont happen anytime soon, but we can dream can't we? Hell maybe even some of the younger park rats will do something about it one day.

the idea of some features between center stage and tuff enuff is awsome! that area is just wasted space, and itd be nice to ski down a run and then hit some boxes or jumps

Maybe i'm weird but long lift lines really don't bother me. I'm just happy to be in boots, skiing on snow. Lift lines don't really bother me. Noobs that stop lifts bother me though.

well no, but on weekdays PNS never has lift lines and i think it's a good spot. another spot i thought of is the flat area at the bottom of special effects

if long lift lines bother, just ride in the singles line. that's what my friends and i do, you spend at most 10 min in line

here's my ideas for some places to add a whole new park, or maybe just 1 or 2 boxes and a jump. i think id be great to have features scattered throughout the hill because some days i just ride the runs and itd be awsome if while going through the tree runs i could hit some stuff!!!

No way brian i am right there with billups. When i skied there almost all of their jumps and rail lips were awful. They are way to oriented toward snowboarders there unlike pns they make things so both skiers and boarders can hit them.

Good idea but i dont think there is any possible way they could do this. And also it would be harder for the park crew to have all of these in good shape. All the little gapers will just run down the rails that arent in a terrain park

Ride on would be more oriented towards a snowboarder.
But to the guy suggesting features all over the place, while that would be cool, something you have to keep in mind is that part of our insurance agreement is that all of our parks need to have boundaries (in the case of the big park the ribbon that everyone likes to duck all the time) and one entrance. So while it could technically be done, it would be a ton of work and probably more of a hassle than it is worth.

really i think pns's park is in the best possible spot right now. the only spot better would be that area to the left of jam session. the 90 degree turn in backstage would cause problems, not to mention i think the 2nd half of it wouldnt be steep enough, same with far side. i just dont see a run that pns currently has that would be better, besides maybe clydes which has wayyyyy too much gaper traffic

Pros:Jumps. really good job there S-rail That mini cannon rail, really fun feature. Reminded me when we had the cannon box set up like a year or 2 ago. Great for learning spins out. C-rail.
Cons: A few rails like the down box, FD box never made an appearance except for like early season.S-rail needed to be switched around at-least once during the season. To many ride on lips, I saw people going straight on the DFD.Use space a bit more efficiently maybe? I know we don't have that much to work with but the 30 flat was way to close to the s-rail at one point.
Suggestions:If possible make a simple 20 ft flat rail that wont stick and is maintained well. When I ski Breckenridge's park my favorite features isn't the crazy jumps, or the exotic rails. Its the simple rail line they have in park lane, just simple rails that are set up in a way for people to learn tricks. It seems at perfects things are setup way to easy like ride ons, or way to hard like when the tall-t is only hit by 1 person in the entire park. Seems like the "common ground" takes a long time to find, and I don't see why it cant be reached when the feature is first set up.

there is nothing you can do about a rail sticking most of the time. rails get sticky most of the time due to weather changes like how warm it gets. at breck it is prolly never above 40 all season there so the metal stays cold

Bingo. With how much the temperature fluctuates around here the rails are going to get sticky every now and then. All we can do is wax them and hope it helps out a bit. It's something to do with chemistry, but the last time I took that was in high school so I'm not really sure.

i'll ask my chemistrty teacher. my guess is the oils in the ski wax freezes when it touches the rail, creating a lot of friction and thus the "sticky" feel. kind of like how your hand sticks to cold metal or ice because of the oils on your skin.

My pros and cons

Pros

-Good setups everything with enough flow to have alot of fun

-The roller coaster rail at the bottom during the filmer friday

-Bottom Jumps, Carved perfectly

-New things done in the mini park, new rails, hip jump

-Filmers fridays is an awesome idea

-Butter Cup!!!!

-All the contests where pretty awesome

-The park keeps progressing and getting better!

Cons

-Park setup didnt change much this year (towards the end of the year) and got boring

-No big fun boxes like out west for snowboarders

-The wallride setup, after you hit it and came back down you had to unbuckle and get out the way of the jumps

-while there was a pretty good advanced rail line, there was not really anything like that for less advanced riders that have are in between the mini and the advanced

-more rails please!

- could usually only hit 2 or 3 thing per lap (probably because the limited space)

-would like to see more none typical things, hip, wallride set up different, butter box, larger cannon rail, maybe a flat cannon rail...

Over all an awesome season.....Hope the park keeps progressing and becomes a top midwest park!

one more thing, i would love to see that park moved to a longer run trail, like backstage or something but i guess its probably not possible because all the people that ski and dont ride park....

pros-park crew was on top of things-the conditions even in warmth-vibecons-its been said before, not enough room for the shredders, but nothing can really be done.-getting yelled at for shredding pow too hard. darn ski police-uhhhhhhnew ideas-down, flat rail. round bar or box -heard it before, a mammoth style rail would be real sick-two decent size jumps instead of three. with big landing so to get speed for the next ridiculous ideas-ipod chargers on the chair lifts-snack food and soda vending machines at top of park-FREE WAFFLES

i think they should put water jugs, like football teams use, at the top of the park. i get thirsty after a couple laps and am too lazy to into the lodge to go to the drinking fountain.

yeah, i dont think they could provide cups because people would just leave them on the ground. i would bring my our bottle or collapsable cup. i would say put a drinking fountain at the top, but i think it would freeze. vending machines is a good idea.

Put a trash can there then... Idk about you but I respect my park and I'm not going to throw shit willy nilly all over.

Also, that funky fresh hip thing that was one the side of the bottom jump shelf was REALLY sick for learning and such.

NO STEP DOWNS, PLEASE.

There is a trash can at the top of the park. People are usually pretty good about throwing stuff away so i dont think it would be to bad.
