Props to Dew Tour Skiers for showing we've progressed passed snowboarding

lol the thread title perhaps.

i think the conditions changed the game a little bit for judging, and run selection as a result. Bobby brown seems to have made a pretty good choice to go bigger on his second run. might not work next time.

PK does have a fair point here... All props for Bobby (not the best known before the comp) for throwin 2 doubles but you do kinda have to make an effort to grab them up. Dont get me wrong now... Id give my left nut to be as good as Bobby but theres a big difference between throwin somethin and stickin a grab on it. Throwin it says "i can do this", grabbin it up at the same time says "im fuckin good at this".

Im not sure if this is a good way to compare it but here we have 2 different rodeo 5s:

it just comes down to the fact that skiing has style, why snowboarding does not.

we have so many varieties we can do with out skis which makes it look so much better while snowboarding only really has 4 options really while we keep coming up with new and interesting tricks. ala. octograb. there is no way you can do that on a snowboard.

anything you can do on a snowboard, you can do on skis.

anything you can do on skis, you cant necessarily do on a snowboards

Skiers have much more creative opportunity however I dont think that is the case on rails...Snowboards have alot more options with presses and what not.

That is not true at all.

I would like to see a skier do a true 50-50 nose press on a double kink rail.

Or how about a crooked press (blunt) on an urban rail.

Or how about Michael Jackson slide?

Snowboarders can also generally Ollie higher than skiers.

Snowboarders can also do a roast beef

I am not saying skiers are better than snowboarders (although I do think that..hehe) And I am not saying the opposite... they are different sports

yeah pk for saying what ive been thinking. bobbys run should have been 2nd or 3rd not first

if the dew tour showed me anything, it's that 99% have busted ass style. kids saying you shouldn't have to grab... no fucking shit. but it's a whole nother story if you try to grab and miss, grab in the wrong place(tindy/ toxic), knee grab, or a if you grab looks shitty, or if you do a stupid grab like an octo or a two handed mute or somethin, that shit is unacceptable and needs to stop. all you steezless riders are fucking lucky that you are the majority.

Octo grabs are stupid and unacceptable? I guess you just killed any chance of taking you seriously right there~

i didnt read the thread but thats it thats all is the most progressive movie ever soo.. we are not ahead

skiers are getting really innovative and coming up with so many newschool tricks but snowboarding is still plain, there is so much more options and you can put so much style into your tricks when you ski instead of board

You heard it on NS first, PK dropped all of his sponsors so he could enter superunknown, his entry consisted of one double cork 12 and berman already gave him the win~

I fucked that up, meant to say he won KoS.. why i put superunknown, i have no idea, i was typing fast and not thinking

I posted pretty much the same thing in the comments actually.

"...

Really PK?

Really?

Are there now rules for

slopestyle comps, where your run must include certain things, and other

things categorically exclude you from podium position? How about we

just give up and turn this into aerials part deux, now with rail

tricks. No-grab tricks mean only one thing: you may have just foregone

an opportunity to add something that could've made your trick more

interesting and technical. They do not mean, all of a sudden, that what

you just did sucked. That's been true since Tanner's 3 in 1242, at

least, if not before. This isn't to say the judges didn't get it wrong,

it's almost always arguable that they did. But saying "this is what you

need to do in a skiing comp to win" is far more unacceptable than a

no-grab double. You would've done better to say he should've lost

points because it was hucked. Moreover, many of us are pretty sick of

sw10-to-win by now... that was 2004, this is not. Not to hate on

Jossi's run at all, just pointing out that you can find fault with what

either of them did and the outcome is going to vary with even the most

informed viewer.

This blog entry was the freeskiing equivalent

of "he bent his knees on that dspin, that's going to cost him a few

points for sure."

fuck ya'll bobby brown KILLED IT!!!

back to back doubles.... sw 10 jap VS double rodeo. dont make me laugh

i snowboard, I think skiing looks more steezy than snowboarding. But snowboarding is fun and so is skiing, so frankly I dont give a shit.

AND THANKS TO "THATS IT THATS ALL" FOR PROVING YOU ARE RETARDED AND SKIING IS NOWHERE NEAR SNOWBOARDING

oh yea because its money that makes snowboarder go twice as big with 3 times more steeze doing 4 times more creative shit.

i specified about 75 posts ago i was only talking about the competition scene, and really meant that i found the skiing much more entertaining to watch and most of the snowboarding was a LOT of stock runs. i thought thats it thats all was the shit and both sports (video wise) have some really great creative stuff coming out, snowboarding has just reached a level where some athletes loose their uniqueness from riding the competition circuit for so long.

alright the only sorta correct point in that rant is that snowboarders

are more creative. twice as big with 3 times more steeze....... not sure about that

mikkel bang's 2nd place run in dew tour was the dopest run thrown on the course by either a skier or snowboarder.
