Throw one or two country songs into the mix and I think you'll be surprised at how many people dig the change. They did that at my Prom and it went really well.

"stairway to heaven" is a definite to finish it with. definitely don't do all rap and hiphop, it pisses me off so much when that's all there is. throw in "let's get it on" by marvin gaye, that would be sweet. "every breath you take" by the police. and for a nice up tempo try "panama" by van halen.
