So, I have discussed an idea with Erica and thought I should make a thread to see how this idea flies with the lovely ladies of NS.

To celebrate having our own forum, I thought it would be sick to release an edit at the end of the season showcasing what the ladies of NS can do. We could set up a drop box and all the girls could submit a few banger shots by the end of the season and I (or anyone with editing skills) could compile them in a badass edit. Using dropbox means that the edit could be composed of girls from all over America, Canada, Europe, Japan...where ever!

The girls who shred park could send in a few banger tricks, the pipe jocks can send in some airtime, any back country gals can submit some cliff drops or pow turns, you can submit anything you want. Any girls who don't want to submit actual skiing shots could send in videos of them doing anything badass, some hilarious bails, or even just their face getting hit with a snowball, ANYTHING! But it would be awesome to get everyone in it.

We can vote on the music we want and how we want it edited so that it is ALL OF OURS. I think something like this would be so fucking badass. To have camaraderie and connection like that through something like a forum would be such a cool thing for our sport and the women in it.

This is could also be a reason to have girls meet up for a #projectpinkname film day! And get some sick footage of a group of girls.

So, whadda ya all think of #projectpinkname?

That's a great idea! I'd love to find a way to contribute. #projectpinkname would be a pretty sweet tag for any of our content on instagram that we want all the ladies to catch up on or see! photos of us, or of people we're shooting, comps, random skier girl shit. I'm totally in.

Exactly! We can tag anything we want! I feel like this is something for us. No other reason for it. I'm just doing it because I am so proud of our weird little niche community and how we have bonded because of a forum! 99% of people in my life would think im a weirdo for how stoked I get over strangers on a forum! We should be proud and have something that can unite us. :) Super cuuuuute.

The main objetive: to just get us stoked. :)

This is a cool idea, if some great footage is submitted and it is edited well it would be a real banger. Just another reason to try for some good footage this season.

I hope this comes together, it has lots of potential for the ladies of ns who shred hard.

Definitely. I don't want it to be a cut and paste shitty edit. I want it to be fucking sick and to really showcase some skills, camaraderie and passion. Quite a few girls film for season edits themselves so hopefully a few banger shots should be easy!
 
I think this is the best idea to ever come out of NS. NSwidow, want to set up a Dropbox? This should absolutely happen.

Definitely. So amped for this. People who have ideas on what music/editing any ideas at all that they want to contribute can post them here or inbox me.

I think an awesome addition would be a shot of everyones face in a quick montage.

Great idea! I'm definitely in. I'll see if I can rally some more scandinavian girls too, I think there are a bunch who aren't very active on NS. :)
 
It would be rad to have a shot of us in our gear like somewhere that represents our mountain best. Whether it's in front of the sign or idk, whatever your mountain is known for!

I'm not sure exactly how many girls will submit footage but if it's a decent number( like more than 10ish) I have a couple ideas for how you could edit this so its not incredibly time consuming.

I like this idea too
 
I do think this is a fun idea, especially if you add a mix of everything. It would need to be edited really well, so someone with those skills would really need to step up. A bad editing job would result in a not so awesome film. Sorry if that's been posted I didn't read through the replies :)
 
I'm so incredibly stoked about this proposal. this would open a lot of peoples eyes about women in skiing. I can't believe people voted that they don't want to be apart of this or that it's lame. It's so incredibly genius. Lady Gabber is even more wonderful then I could have imagined! We deffinietly need to make this happen!

Anyone who voted that it would be lame or you wouldn't want to be a part of it, that's totally fine! But I could love to know why? I really want this to be a good thing for everyone.

Heddious- Definitely!! Get a whole bunch in. And shots of girls in front of resorts signs could be really cool to show the diversity of our little community! I am super pumped and think it could work out really well!

Sounds really great! But I'd also like to got ahead and support the suggestion that the standard needs to be really high.

Can't guys still vote on the polls just not rate the content? I don't think I know any ladies who would oppose something like this. It gives me a reason to be stoked for the winter too! I might not get any park rat shots but I can gather up something else rather nice :)
 
I am very down with this. Already planning with filmer friends to stack some big mountain footy this year so hopefully I can contribute
 
This sounds AWESOME!

Were lining for a little UK project this season too so hopefully we'll get some great shots to send over :)
 
This is a great idea! Not only are we representing ourselves but we'll all be able to look at it to get stoked for the future.

I am so pumped by all the positive responses. I think about this everyday! Haha. We will get a drop box set up soon and we can begin stacking footage! If this is done right, it will be so damn awesome.

Hey! Someone (NSwidow? Ericamn?) should brainstorm a deadline for having video clips sent in. I'm not sure when seasons end around the world or what would be a good timeline for this project, but having a date by which edit clips need to all be collected would allow for the of work consolidating all of the footage to begin. Let's make this happen!
 
^^My season ends late march/ early april and other's seasons will go well into april and may.

I think it's worth considering waiting till the end of summer for those in the southern hemisphere and then possibly release the edit in the fall/ early winter? Just a thought.

Yeah that's what I figured. Having an actual timeline laid out though I think would help make this more likely to happen. I don't want this idea to die!!
