Progression Edit

Hey guys,
So I just got on skis about a season and a half ago, after watching my little bro tear it up for years. As the title of the thread says, I made a little edit of some of the progression I've made since that time, with some footie mixed in of my brother as well. He recently had a TBI (traumatic-brain injury) and won't be riding park for quite a while, if ever, so hopefully I can improve my riding a bit to make my edits more worthwhile.
Anyways, check it out, let me know what you think about the editing.. obviously the skiing isn't great but if you have any tips, feel free to drop those for me too. Thanks guys.

clicky?

i really enjoyed that man the editing was nicely done. what was that filmed with? realllly good in my opinion for only 18months experience on sticks. +vibes to your bro, keep it up

Thanks man, I definitely appreciate the vibes. It was filmed with a GoPro HD Hero.
Gonna give the embed one more shot . . .

i like it..kinda artsy with some good skiing..was that r5? it was reeal good quality footage..also it being sunny the whole time probably helps

definitely r3, you can tell by the slow motion shots.

as far as the edit goes, i think it was a little over edited, and sometimes you had some trouble on follow cams with keeping the skier in the frame, but otherwise good skiing and a good edit.

Yeah, it was shot in R3 - 720p @ 60fps. Thanks for the critique, yeah some of the shots got out of frame on the follow cams because that day we chose to use a chest mount rather than the pole mount, which was a mistake, but I still liked the footie enough to use it. We probably wont use the chest mount again except for POV footage.
Thanks again for taking a look.

Thanks guys, appreciate you taking the time to take a look. To make the slow-mo smooth you have to conform the footage from 60fps to 23.98fps using a program like Cinema Tools (which is what i used). It gives you pretty clean slow-mo.

or you could drop them into a 60fps timeline and slow to 40%, then render in 24... I find it much easier.

I'm sure Brock's method works fine as well, I just meant that Cinema Tools is what I use and I find it pretty easy.
Chompo, the lack of framing on the follow cams is due to making the mistake of using a chest mount rather than a pole mount on that specific day, which I wont be doing again unless its for POV footie. The overediting is most likely a result of me trying to cover up my lackluster skiing, but hopefully I will keep improving my riding to make it more enjoyable to watch. Thanks for taking the time to take a look.

Just my personal opinion, I think having the whole edit in slo-mo was boring. Maybe mix it up a little? and +vibes to your bro.

I agree that sometimes too much slow-mo can get boring, but its also tough to find shots that look good and steady when at full speed. I tried to mix in a few here and there but yeah, definitely could have used more full speed to balance it out a bit. I will work on finding angles that work well with full speed shots..
Thanks again for checking it out and taking the time to critique!
