Problems with COD4/XBOX live

I recently got a wireless router, and I have been playing COD. However, more and more frequently, i am unable to join game sessions, and it keeps telling me that I need an active connection. I checked the light on the router, and it is green. Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, what did you do to solve it?

Xbox live is on the fritz today/tonight. Nothing we can do about it, just have to wait it out.

Yeah i played at a friends house and he's on a wireless and it took forever to connect but i think it's just live.

dude its totally fucking up for me. i'm on a wired connection and it still takes a long ass time to get into games and it randomly drops me. annoying shit

It's got nothing to do with Xbox Live, go back a step. You're playing CoD 4 on an Xbox, buy a PS3. Problem solved.

There have been mad server issues on COD since the game came out. I don't know about the ps3 but for xbox live will randomly shit the bed. I know they've been trying to work it out for ages, so who knows when they're gonna get it right.

that happens to a lot of people with wireless shit, it doesnt really work that well, my advise is to use an ethernet

I got a 360 like 2 days ago. When i try to sign up for live it tells me like "Sign up for Xbox Live is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

yea, its happening to me all day. Xbox live forums are raided with spam about this problem, some live thing. lets just wait it out

since a lot of kiddies received 360 and live for Christmas xbox live has been hit very hard, and Microsoft has said they were unprepared, so basically an overload issue
