Problem with JP vs Julien

I just got these at the end of last season and i'm looking at mounting them now. The only problem is that the "the mounting line" on the skis are at different places on the ski, one is 2cm more forward than hte other(they dont line up). Is this a problem when having a ski tech mount them? I just dont want a tech to mount one binding more forward than another on accident.

 
Dude get ahold of an armada rep and youll get another pair, ast year a friend had his arv's mounted to find that one was an inch more forward than the other but it was because of the lines he got a brand new pair of skis for there mistake, armada will hook you up with 06's... look into it

^dude nick don't give away my free skis bro, every shmuck who milks the warrenty department means another shmoozer in the know doesn't get his for free. What you should really do is have them measured and mounted even at around 7cm back from true center. That is as far foward as the core permits this is coming from the guy at the shop that got 5 pair of mismatched Armadas last season.

I think ill just measure, ill just have to make sure i get somebody who knows what they're doing before they mount them.

Do what da skimasterflex said, just measure them yourself, but if Armada really would send you other skis in refund, make sure it doesn't take too long for them to arrive, the season is close..

How about we don't make adversarial statements on behalf of companies we don't work for? That would be cool.

Always measure your shit based on distance from true center. It's just easier to deal with. If you know how the company you're riding builds skis it's not difficult... especially if you're on Armada. Mount your JPs either 5 back for jumps or 7 back for all around, is my advice.

^Well I sold twelve pair last year and owned two and how any of them skied had nothing to do with the minor technical difficulty of the mounting line being off. Yeah... um, you seem to think of yourself as being far, far more important than you actually are. Let's keep hold of reality here, you work in a fucking ski shop. It's great that you sell armada skis. But don't speak for companies you don't work for. That's just stupid, you're not helping anyone. Be as big an ass as you want but don't represent people you don't, well, represent... because AR guys are chill on here and don't shit talk people. I for one don't like to see it.

And to be clear, no Armada employees have posted in this thread as yet.

i can't wait to demo a pair so i can proceed to buy a pair. they can put the mounting line parallel to the ski on the tip if they want, any competent binding mounter should be able to figure it out.

Skimaster flex has time and time again proved himself as a douchebag on newschoolers. Most of his posts relate him to being the greatest ski salesmen in the land with the most knowledge of the product. Neither of which seem to be true.

 
Mr JD I concur. I wish people would stop acting like they own the place just because they know about skis. If you've ridden a pair of Armada's then sweet, you can give them a review and inform others who are looking to buy the skis of how they ski, and what to expect in flex patterns ect. Skiing a ski does not make you a represtative of that company, entitling you to speak on behalf of that company. Let's get our shit straight, and NS will be a happier place.

Skimaster you said in your review that this years JP vs Juliens are stiffer than last years. I thought they were the same ski. What do you mean?

The topsheets on skis are off all the time, and every single ski company is guilty of it. Nothing is wrong with "their" measuring -- sometimes the topsheets just shift while pressing.

 
^^^Yeah...this years JP/julien is the same ski as last year...except it's three centimeters shorter and it has a new lighter core...and it's stiffer...

It is slightly stiffer but not THAT much, and no, it's not 3cm shorter. The 04/05 was actually 188cm in length, not 191.
