Canada hasn't had the problem the US has had with racism. But it goes for a lot of other human rights. We are way more progressive and liberal than the US gov't ever has been.
Our Charter of Rights which is and has been for a while, a part of the constitution provides much more protection for visible minorities and women than the States has ever come close to offering. We have also offered progressive human rights long before the US so naturally it will help the country as a whole with racial problems over a long enough period of time. We have better social programs therefore our poverty rate isn't as bad. We have a great public school system so that poor immigrants and poor ppl in general can get a good education. Health care is fantastic. Our literacy rate is higher...in general canada has served its PEOPLE better and therefore we have less racial issues. we might not be powerful and our dollar is worth less (although we're making a comeback) but we live a great life in canada with less violence and more freedom. less hate and more love. also...
Not to mention the fact that women were able to vote in canada before they could in the US.
im not a crazy feminist or anything I'm just saying that Canada has a much more progressive approach to its citizens and its citizens' rights.

This is true. The US isn't all bad, but canada definitely has some great things going for it. Socialism rules.

haha i'm from North Carolina (moved a while a fews years ago...) and before anyone says that whites from the south US are racist bastards (i'm not sayin anyone will...but it happened once somewhere can't remember...) we aren't...and if you talk about civil war...that war was fought in the name of State Rights...Robert E. Lee was AGAINST slavery...he fought for the South out of his love for his home of Virginia...(homestate loyalty isn't quite what it used to be.)
the CSA wasn't all bad lol...they were afraid to lose the freedom America had fought so hard for during the Revolution...i'm not sayin all that they were for was good though...Racism is bad so is Sexism and a whole lot of other isms...anyway just in case we get on that subject...it's been said
