so when i do switch spins over 3 i really often land off axis (to the left- i spin left) or backseat - what should i do to fix it?

Trial and error my friend. But just try it different each run. Hopefully more people will give you advice...

BUTTER off the lip? what the hell is that supposed to mean, start spinning on the snow?

thats the worst advice i've ever heard

be patient, pop and don't lean over your noses too much.

I wouldn't say to butter. It might to help you to do a bunch of clean sw 180's. Concentrate on your pop and keeping a centered stance since I think your problem is probably in your takeoff. Once you have the takeoff down just speed it up/ throw it harder to spin bigger.

yeah i know the problem is the take off i know i make something wrong but don't know what ... i can do all spins up to 9 so i think spinning is not the problem, but switch i am a total noob i sometimes can get a sketchy switch 5 no grab but that's all - could it be that the of axis thing is caused by leaning too much forward (towards the nose)??? how do you keep your weight when you take off switch, centered???

how big are the jumps your hitting u cant just butter off like a sizeable booter and expect to make it to the landing thats just like snowboards who prespin a shitload of jumps

look over the oppisite shoulder

so if you spin left go up to the jump lookin gover your right shoulder. Then when you're at the tranny, switch shoulders, and you'll switch stance from left foot staggered forward to left foot further downhill. This way you can start your spin with your body on the snow without buttering, because buttering only works in the park.

watch out and make sure you dont drop your inside shoulder, your right shoulder, when you are setting your spin, i dont feel like explaining it, but just make sure you are centered when you leave the lip

WORST. ADVICE. EVER.

Come in with your knees bent but your upperbody tall, if you're slouched forward your shoulders will automatically set cork. That's the most likely problem, if that doesn't help it's quite possible that you're droping your head by staring at the ground once you're in the air, that would also send you backseat.

thx for the answers

i think i try it with my weight not so much leaning forward - what's the deal with the "jump with your inside edge" thing, should you do it or doesn't it matter???

Good advice. I would add that as you throw the spin, think of dropping your lead shoulder just a bit, which will cause you to lean down hill. Usually people are leaning too far forward as they take off and they drop their back shoulder, causing them to cork.

try to cork the spin. i usually have the same problem when i try to spin straight, because then i take off as usual, but i dont cork the spin in the end so i come backseat.

You probably just need to pop more off the lip. Try actually bending down, as as soon as you see that your hitting the lip, jump up/try and pop off your skis, it will help you not catch a tip (unless your skis are centermount, but if they aren't, your more likely to catch your tip off the lip because of the longer tip than tail) and help you get your spins.
