Ok, well my ar5s are currently missing 5 inches of edge underboot, and every other edge is starting to blow out. (a season and a couple months of hard jibbing kills skis)So it looks like i may be gettin new skis. Price is kinda a worry, but not so bad, and graphics are kinda important but im 5'7" and ive ski a couple years in the park. Will be doing rails, and jumps 40-60. I was thinking either:

A-fugis

B-thall pros

C-stls

and if u have any suggestions tell me, and pleace, not line salomon or atomic

make that 3 for the stls. amazing ski. super light, and ultra versitile. if you are 5 7, get the 177s too, specially if your doin alot of fairly large jumps. with this ski being so damn light, there really is no need to downsize. after ridding some ar5s this weekend, i think youll really like the 4frnts. in my opinion, they ski WAY nicer.

yup. if you were saying PURE jibbing, id say thalls or last years stls. but since your talkin bout hitting lots of fairly large jumps, the new stls FOR SHURE. while not quite as flexy in the tail, it more than makes up for a small loss of jibability with HUGE gain on the jumps. this years ski is way poppier, and is much easier to stick landings. and god forbid you had to ski them somewhere outside the park, they could easily hold thier own.

^thats pretty much what i was thinking...better a little stiffer, so that you dont wash teh fuck out of kickers.

Man.... if they're just park skis, i'd just keep your AR5s till the end of the season. If not, buy some Liberty's or something. They rock out hard in the park, and are so light.

stl.....fuji and thalls are noddles and you can buy 2 pairs of fuji for one pair of thalls

stl's if you want some good jump/pipe skis

fuj then thalls last

why didnt you take them in when the edge was still on there, just cracked?

gawd...get libertys..they are cheap and ive never heard any problems with them

absolutely no point in doing edge repairs on a ski that get slammed into rails regularly, the repairs simply will not hold no matter what.

I will prob for another month, but all the egdes r gonna blow out, and they drag a little bit when im skiing, which sucks.

why would you buy armada again if they dont hold up well, anyway this is your choice but I would say STL

If you have only chosen the Thalls because of the rounded edges then bare in mine that all you need is to detune the edges under the foot to get the same effect. Nick

I'd say the scratch fs, but you said they had to be purdy, so that rules those skis out. For pure park the ar5 might be the way to go since you said they're "the sickest skis ever," so there shouldn't be any reason to buy anything else if you already found what you like. And they do have some really good looking graphics as well.

ar5s blow. they are heavy as shit, dead feeling, and have no pop. im sorry, ive ridden numerous pairs of um, and was NOT impressed. the only thing they have going for them is they feel very burly. but they rode like poo.

indeed you can

armadas have poop edges, well, not like bad unless they begin to rip out. one that happens, it doesnt stop.

Disagree, they had alot of that for last season, i can tell they are losing it, but anyone who complains about skis being heavy are pussys.

negative. ive skied this years 181s or whatever they are, and the 176s. the 176s felt alright, but the 181s felt like crap. they were practically band new, and felt very damp, and unresponsive. compaired to just about every other park ski ive ridden, id take these last.

get this years chronics. i have chron wides adn they kill it in the park plus they kill it in the pow, so id have to say just the normal chronics for park
