Pro tec ace of spades full face

i have been checking out some full faces because i think i am hard core enough. i was looking at the giro mad max s, but it's close to $200 so that was kind of ruled out. i just found out that pro tec has a full face for skiing/snowboarding called the ace of spades. it comes in a pretty sick matte green color, but anyways it's only $65. does anyone know if it's good quality? or is it a piece of shit?

I have used nothing but pro-tec for years now. I'm not a full face fan but the spades is a great helmut for the price. Its not a removeable face guard if that makes a difference to you. I'm going to get one for the few days I will use it as well as the regular multi-impact lid. I say go for it!

have you tried it on or anything? do you know if it's warm and stuff like that? and ho it fits? i read that there are two shell sizes (s/m and l/xl) with different sets of pads so you can get a good fit.

You think you are hard-core enough! I just re-read your post and that made me laugh.

I'm picturing you in a shop telling the staff... ya so I'm pretty sure I'm hard-core enough for a full face. What do you reccomend?

Pro-tec fit me the best. Try on any pro tec to see if they fit you. The full face isn't super warm but on cold days I carry a super thin tech touque in my pocket or wear it all day. Helly makes a great under helmut touque.

The hardest thing about wearing a full face is remembering not to spit.

that helmet would go pretty well with my set up too. i have sessions pants that are the same color as the matte green and a black jacket. mmm.

haha yeah i figured that out when i went mountain biking for the first time. i have a bad habbit of spitting all the time. everywhere. even in peoples houses.

Personaly not a huge fan of protec over the years, if you wanted to go cheap go with a pryme or even a fly biking helmet.

vsport.com doens't work

there is a vsport.az, but it's in a foriegn language

and i don't see anything on vsport.biz

and i know the girl whos paretns started 661. that's crazyness that they are big. my area code is 661. represent!

you wont be using that at ski resorts will you? i think full face is kinda a heli ski only kinda a thing, i do a lot of touring which puts me in terrain where a full face would be nice but a full face is way to hot to be touring with

One other disadvantage I notice with full face was my goggles would fog up cause of my breath. Only sometimes. Just buy one and get another regular protec for when you don't feel like a FF. Both lids could be purchased for the price of a Giro.

With that troy lee you can turn face planting into rocks an actual jib and try to 270 out of it and stuff. And on the sizing i would say that helmet would be on the tight side of fitting you, just go to your local mtb place, most respectable ones carry the troy lee stuff....try on a few and hopefully that m/l fits cause that is a killer deal.

^^

The D2 helmet from Troy Lee is a super light MTB helmet, NOT to be worn in motorcross, Troy makes a MX helmet that is super sick though. If you like the helmets on Danscomp, get them somewhere else... Danscomp is shady when it comes to shipping and takes a long ass time.

i think i can get hooked up on that 661 helmet. i know the girl whos mom started it from when she was in rehab with my girlfriend. based out of valencia, california 661 REPRESENT!

You won't get legitimate ski shop advice but you'll ask kids on this site?

HAHAHAHAHAHAA.

BTW that helmet looks decent I'm very interested for the same reasons you are full face on the cheap cheap hmmm.

i am asking for advice about a helmet. you will never see me asking about what skis, bindings, or any other type of gear i should buy.

Sean, as you know...I wear a D2 on certain days...sickest helmet ever!! I think if you can get that one on pricepoint for $150, do it and then just paint it or sticker it up.

If not, I agree with DP, look at the 661 helmets...they are pretty dope.

Other than that, I'd say maybe the Mad Max.

I'd stay away from protec as it's been my experience that they aren't comfortable unless you are using one of the old school skate helmets with like 3 inches of foam.
