Pro skiers who snowboard

What are your feelings about guys like Pollard and Pep who kill it on skis, but snowboard all the time for fun?

I think thats awesome. I actually really wish i was better at snowboarding, I only get on a board very rarely. buttering and shredding pow on a board looks like soo much fun, plus it is wayy easier to look smooth and stylish in the air imo.

i saw Garett Russell on a board more then skis last year, i knew he snowboraded for fun but five days in a roll i had to ask him what he was doing on a borad and he told me he dident have a pair of skis?!?! so like eveyone else is thinking " WHO CARES".........................

i think its sick they can do both. me and my snowboard friends trade all the time for part of the day. its all about having fun.

I think its great that pro skiers who snowbird are so kool about being on the same mountain with both sports and just able to recognize both as a legitimate good time

honestly the only reason i havent is because i dont wanna have to go through the whole falling constantly thing again. ive always thought it looked sick though

IDEA has a whole section dedicated to snowboarding and it's mainly Pep, Pollard, and Mahre was out there too along with Pollard's wife. I think it's super sick, the cool thing is, they're awesome skiers and they're really good at snowboarding too.

I snowboarded for a year and then said it was way to easy. So i tried freesking then realized i had a gift for snowboarding. So thiis year or next year i am going to try it again.

snowboarding is a lot of fun. for some reason it seems like you can jib and do anything on a snowboard, basically your only limited to your creativity where as with skis it seems like you dont have the same freedom. I've only snowboarded once or twice but Im deeply considering selling my skis and boots and buying a snowboard just because of how much fun it is. i cant go as fast on a board but i still have more fun than on skis.

i converted to skiing, and watching all these snowboard movies. i am highly considering throwing in the towel and going back to boarding, i too realized i was given a gift on side stance sports

I love it. It's great. I started out on a snowboard when I was 10, then switched to skiing after 3 years. Now I still snowboard every year. It's only for fun, and I'm a much better skier, but I still love getting on my board. It's just another fun snow sport. I learned those nollie front flip things last year. SOOOOOOO fun it's rediculous. I love all the super fun buttery/mess around things you can't really do on skis.

i saw tom wallisch snowboard when he was at my resort. Hes not that bad at it i saw him do a backside boardslide on a box and like a backside 3.

i definitely want to get better at boarding this year. you can jib pretty much anything on a board and butters look so sick

I do both..I try and switch it up alot...I'll ski on saturdays and board on sundays, then the next weekend ill board saturday and ski sunday...Im alot better at boarding cause i just started skiing again last year but there still really fun to do...the best thing is if im doin shitty on one thing than i can switch it up and hope for better luck...Rails on boards are soooo fun to, buttering a box is the ultimate feeling...heres my setup

there needs to be a legit snowboard/ski film and im not talking like tgr style, but something like level1 and mack dawg combined...

gak...none of you really have a gift for snowboarding...the shits just waaayyy easier...i skied for awhile, and switched to snowboarding for 4 years, and im now back at skiing...you spend like 5 weeks snowboarding, and youve learned like all the damn tricks in the book...and seriously...Yea snowboarders are waayyy more urban...but skiiers are so much more steezy...come on guys, you just need to learn to adapt, and what not...watch a snowboard movie, and then go do that shiit on skis...dont give up on it

and if your getting rid of the Reno rockers, ill trade you a snowboard for them, with boots and all...

Everytime I go to Windells, Dylan Hood decides to snowboard one day outta the session, and he OWNS. Seriously massive cork sevens and perfectly grabbed cork five's. Same with Brandon Becker, except he's not quite as good as dillon yet.

I have seen Sammy Carlson snowboarding at meadows a couple times. He is pretty good.

On a side note, I grew up skiing from a young age and started snowboarding in Jr. High. It wasn't until I last year that I decided to give skiing another chance. Snowboarding was fun and you do get good fairly quickly but skiing is way more technical. Watch a TGR video and see snowboarders slip sliding down the mountain while skiers bust out jump turns. I think I will continue doing both sports for now with 2/3's of my days on skis..

Haha, I'm exactly the same except that I'm actually going back. Already bought a new rome machine and some burton cartels. Need to get some boots when I get back home for thanksgiving. Snowboarding was way more fun that skiing and I'm just better at it than skiing. I gave skiing a try for 2 years, lol

back when i was just a young gun i put in my time on the snowboard, i have since given up on it, i found it wasnt nearly as challenging, i personally enjoy skiing a lot more

plus switch on skis looks way steezier than switch on a snowboard

They do it just to prove that skiers can go both ways onto something that is so incredibly easy to do in comparison to skiing. Thats the only reason

I snowboarded for like 6 years before twin tips really started getting out there. I ride pow every once in a while. Snowboarding is fun as hell.

I think ts rad to see people doin both. On a side note, when I switched from skiing to snowboarding a few years ago, I found that I caught on really quickly, but I think the reason was because I used to ski for 10 years prior. My friend did just the opposite and picked up skiing really quick as well, so as for whats harder, its pretty hard for me to make a certain judgment, although I will say that skiing can do a lot more technical stuff, having both feet strapped to the same board also makes it a lot harder to bail yourself out sometimes.

Uhh there's no pro skiers who snowboard cause anyone good enough to be a pro skier obviously realizes that skiing is 1000x cooler than snowboarding and snowboarding is stupid and snowboarding is gay and snowboarding is for fags. Duh

theres nothing wrong with my 12's...Plus my old cartels broke so I had to go get a cheap pair of Salomon sp1's..they work though, super light....I also dont have much money so I gotta make the best outta what I got
