Pro skiers from the midwest basically made it out the hood

You’re gonna pick “big name“ midwest skiers and you pick these two clowns… come on dawg.

whoa whoa whoa. goepper isn't so bad even if he's trying out the whole influencer thing and sending helmets out to ankilla

You could have said Wallisch (not sure if Pittsburgh is really midwest but he's from a small ass hill) and Chris Laker instead

And I don't really agree if we're only talking park skiers. Midwest park setups are good these days and rope tows mean they can spin twice as many laps as a kid out west can in a day.

I'd say Wallisch definitely counts just because 7S and Wisp are waayy more similar to midwest resorts than northeast resorts (ie mid). Also you gotta consider that those rope tow hills have super short seasons and icy as fuck + blown out conditions all the time (ever seen a 7S box landing at 5pm on a saturday? it's actually a human rights violation), and a lot of places hardly ever run their ropes.

I have seen those kind of conditions cause I ski at COP which along with Rabbit are basically Midwest hills out west. Both produce tons of good skiers too. Our season is nov to end of April though

Yes the snow conditions are similar but COP and Rab Lab both have way better parks than most places. Rabbit is on par with the few best parks in the midwest and Winsport has the best setup for progression I've ever seen. There's every feature you need to do anything, from learning your first rail slide to competing at the highest level, including pipe which is almost nonexistent these days.

Many of those skiers at COP Rabbit have the added advantage of being close to Marmot and the Banff resorts too, whereas in the midwest a lot of those kids don't see a mountain unless they decide to move to the mountains after high school.

COP isn't that great unless you're on a team. The big jump line and bags are both private and they put 0 effort into the small jump line. I'll admit the pipe is sick as hell and the rails are solid. Places like Sunshine and Grouse are far better if less convenient.

There are definitely hills in the midwest with parks of comparable quality to the public stuff at COP and Rab. Seven Springs, Perfect North, Troll, Blue and MSLM if they count etc all look really fun to ride.

Icy conditions make for better skiers. Shorter seasons means you're forced to progress faster. It's literally the perfect recipe to create sick park skiers. It's not an ideal environment, but its also not a coincidence that every good park skier I know grew up either on the east coast where conditions suck or on rope tows where they got hundreds of hits in a day.

Nah cuh, the midwest is no hood. It’s suburbs compared to most east coast skiing. Yeah sure we have VT/NH/ME but everything else is shit, we get way less snowfall, warmer temps which = more slush and ice, no tow ropes, shorter seasons, and shitty parks. Come ride a season in PA and you might actually appreciate the midwest.

By hood you mean their parents had tons of money and multiple ski houses, thousands to send them to camp every summer and went to college just to ski then yeah I guess they made it out of the hood.
