Private or Public School?

The problem with this? most schools do, including mine... you just lost SO many respect points by this retardedly racist statement....

You def did not go to a private school. not at all how it works. at a private school there are people that get paid to HELP you when you struggle. newfag

I went to private school since 4th - 6thI went to boarding school 7th-12th

now I'm in collage

private school sucked cause it wasn't from choice, and yea due to it I did lose friends because they assumed I went there because I wasn't good enough for them...

as for boarding school that was kinda my choice for middle school since I already lost a good amount of home friends so I was just like fuck it w/e an I ended up having really the time of my life it was really pretty dope

So for highschool I could go to public school and reconnect with home friends or continue to boarding I chose boarding because it was actually pretty dope, its nice to have a break from parents and not deal with them an have them nagging you but same time administration at school can sometime be a bitch too... but its different then parents ya know.

anyways yea boarding school it opened up a lot of doors I have friends from all over I've been to switzerland skiing from a friends I met at school, been all over us, went to bermuda for the summer, made a bunch of new friends that are now my best friends from all over... so I have homes all over the us now its mad chill I have friends all over my own state that give me a place to crash.

I got into a good college my school was probably a good factor why, I got a bunch of electives what public school didn't offer, I still got to ski every weekend at school in the winter, I petitioned with some homies that ride/skate and got a skatepark built on campus... boarding school are actually pretty chill unless its like behaviour school lmfao

What school in CT is it, Sailsburry, Forman, Kent?

if you have the chance to go to a private school take it. looks way better for colleges even if you get the same grades

HAHAHHAHAhAH THE FIRST PART OF THT WAS THE SINGLE BIGGEST DUMBFUCK THING IVE READ! I JUST FACEPALMED MYSELF CUZ I FELT SO BAD FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMIlY!

"your parents can't force you"

um, buddy if you're in grade 7 i fucking hope you do what you're told, and good luck to anyone truly in this situation because you're lucky to have the choice.(though op writes way too well for a 13 year old boy i'm assuming)

all being said, depends which school has a better educational system. will you learn more from private or public? and that really comes down to where you live, and what your schools are like. chances are often private school is a lot better because it usually means much better funding. another problem with public schools can be size. you can have way too many people in one grade, therefore depersonalizing the classroom, and school itself, which can be good or bad.

comes down to: is the public school shitty as fuck, or is it average, or if you're lucky above average.

pretty much /thread.

this. if the public school is decent, definitely do the public school. the situation sounds way better. i transferred from private to public after 8th grade, and i found public to be mad fun. the real question is, what do you want? whats the most important thing to you? answer that, and you should be able to answer your question

I agree we have some of the best public schools int eh country and the name graduating from those alone help you get into college. If your not going to a top public school private is the way tto go

i dated a girl who was in a private school near DC, she had to work 3 times as hard as all of our friends to keep her grades up

that was probably the stupidest thing ive ever heard, that is so untrue. You're normally paying for what is thought to be a "better" education or some kind of better experience at the school or just the prestige factor

public school because if you have friends now, you can stil chill with them thru HS. And if its an all boys school...you gotta go public

being this is my third all nighter in a row (fuck yea architecture) along with adding the fact that I'm severely Dyselxic, could be the reason.

But shits maybe that just me bro

i went to a private school and hated it. i was depressed most of the time, everyone was a pretentious ass who thought i was a weird reefer-smokin hippie, and i had some dickhead teachers. that being said, im happy i went because it made getting into college so easy compared to public school kids, plus it really is a better education.

why would you want to do more work? go to a public school man. you'll still get into a good college and you'll have fun with your friends, who are probably much cooler than the kids you'll meet at private school. high school should not be taken so seriously, i wasn't much of a model student but wish i did even less looking back lol. i mean as long as you get good grades (easy as shit) you will be fine with both routes.

you have a lot of possibilities and options going to a public school. you may get accepted to a better college if you go private, or you may not. chances are better that you will, however. also, you will still get into a good college which will land you a job in the career field you choose whether you go to public or private...so why not go public and have fun haha.

your parents will save so much from private school they could pay for your college with it. if they already have money set aside for that, ask your dad for a new m3 for your 16th so you can impress the bitches at public school lol.

Depends where you live I guess. To say you get a better education/more opportunities at a private school is pretty stupid, but maybe I'm biased because where I live the public schools are extremely good, and most of the kids who went to private school around here were just rich stoners who didn't give a fuck, and ended up going to the same or worse colleges as the public school kids. I say don't waste your money, cause if you work hard you're still gonna get into a good college regardless or your high school.

There seems to be the misconception in this thread that going to a private high school increases your chances of being accepted to a good college. This isn't necessarily true. Colleges don't care what high school you went to. They only care about how well you did in high school. If you need to be coddled in order to do well in high school, then maybe you should go to private school. If you think you have the work ethic to do well in public school, then you should definitely save the money and go to public school.

basically here's my view,

when in college I was friends with kids who went to private school, boarding schools, I went to public, and a kid who was basically locked up in wilderness juvie programs, and we all attended and same college.
