Prius

all you prius owners who think your making a difference and that your car helps the enviornment, your not. actually your making it worse i got called out by a prius owner in the parking lot for driving a suburban. too bad that the prius's battery burns the equivelent of 25,000 miles of gas to produce (for the nickle or some shit) and they run out so if you drive 50,000 miles and your battery blows out get a new one its the equvelent of driving 100,000 miles. along with this the energy cost of a prius at is $3.25 per mile my suburbans is $2.94 per mile. im sorry for the rant but ive been called out a good 5 times about driving a suburban by prius owners fucking snobs

haha i love the achmed the dead terrorist rant on prius's
"if you're driving on the highway and you put your hand out the vehicle will tuuuuuurn"
yea run over the crunchy fuck

we had this huge rain storm the other day. and all the people's hybrids stalled and shit cause when they went through puddles, the electrical shit fails. like 20 in our city stalled. it was on the news.

OWNT.

haha i know eh? i've been telling them this since the prius was introduced. not to mention the fact that they are supporting a car company that probably burns more fuel in one day making priuses than i'd burn for a year of driving a Tahoe

I'm not saying that driving a suburban is great either, because I somehow doubt you need a car that big, but thank you, fucking hybrid drivers are little bitches.

whatever. I like my car. I like the touchscreen, I like the backup camera, I like interior, I like the way it has ninja stealth in electric mode.

yeah thats where i got the facts for my arguement

to dan. yeah i know i shouldnt be but if i trade it in i get like 6 grand and i still have to pay off 4 grand so theres no point in selling it plus its good for rides to NH and shit

i wouldn't say that a hummer and prius are equal, but i would say the owners are equally annoying.

also if you sell your car and buy a prius your fucking up the enviornement up more since someone else is gonna be driving your car anyway, and its just one more car toyota has to make, and producing a single car is alot worse for the enviornment than driving an suv.

i could really care less if people drive huge excursions and shit. the whole global warming thing is mostly bullshit, people flip shit over a .2 degree increce over one year, when it has happened all the fucking time in the past. im all for having cleaner cars, but driving prius's isnt gonna do shit. once we find a new fuel source that actually works as well as gas, then it will become our new fuel source and the world will slowly switch from gas to whatever the new fuel source is.

we already have diesel, which is very clean, and works just as well as gas, hydrogen, which in like 10 years could probably work very well, you can use alcohol and its faster than gas and turns into water vapor.

for now your not doing shit by selling your suv for something more fuel efficiant, cause someone else is gonna be driving it just as much as you, and its just one more car the manufacturer has to pollute to make. your car doesnt magically dissapear when you sell it.

WTF are you talking about? I don't pull shit out from thin air. I do research. I read, post my opinion, talk about the facts then that's it.

too bad it looks like a jelly bean. Seriously... they could make hybrid cars look cool but they usually look really stupid. I do like touchscreens and incredible gas mileage though.

im sorry but you must have not read it carefully enough but the people refuting the studies (Pacific Institute) is a "green" group of scientists so of course theyre gonna say its good and that the studies are wrong, just because your ignorant to what scientists have found true (several sources) doesnt mean you can call me out. also did you know that the battery when hit by a flame releases a highly toxic smoke so when they get in car accidents they have to bring in specialist teams instead of firefighters

half the people who drive them think they are saving the world though, it would be a great car to have if you dont want to spend alot of money on gas, but its not saving the earth like most prius owners think.

i drive a nissan versa and think im cool

i know that what im saying is what makes the source for your side more reputable than mine you cant say that its not true when you dont have other sources either

Dude, I don't even want to have a discussion about this. I just posted my personal feelings about the stupid autos and that was it. I've already read about this shit - months ago.

thats a blog really reputable im not fighting that the hummer is better for the environment than the prius i was just saying that theres alot of articles where you could get that, also that second paragraph makes you look like a prick playing the "you should give up now" card. it doesnt change the fact that prius's arent 40 times better for the enviornment than other cars which is what alot of prius owners believe

ive realized i cant get through to you because your gonna just fight anything i say, what im saying is that prius's arent the green god car that everyone thought and some still think it was jesus christ you havent said anything to refute that all your doing is picking apart what i say

I hate the electric mode...I can't tell you how many times I've almost been run over on a bicycle by someone driving a prius

My deal is with the people that sell their 1 year old civic or whatever to get a prius to "make a difference". If they keep driving their old car (which still gets decent milaege) they are in effect recycling it, rather than someone habing to produce a whole new car. These are the people that basically do it for the image. Smug is real.

I don't get why everyone is so worked up. It's got some promising technology. It might not be perfect, but who cares. It's a step in the right direction.

Like I said, besides the obvious fuel savings, it's a great car. I mean what other cars come with a touchscreen/CD/cruise/keyless entry/backup camera standard? Anyway. Cool your jets.

no like what im saying is like i dont even knwo what the car is like, but theres people who think that theyre way better than everyone else because theyre driving around in a prius its alot less the car and more of the owner

it doesnt save you money even with high gas prices b/c of dealer markups and the extra cost of batteries and the electric motor. I take something like 7 to 10 years to make it worth it

Not really, you can get them at sticker for like 21K. The battery lasts a long time, in CA they are warrantied for at least 150K and my mom's prius has 130K on it with no problems.

Let's say you drive 25K a year in a year with a vehicle that gets 20MPG and gas is $5.00 a gallon (which it is about there where I live). That's $6,250 a year in gas.

The prius gets about 45MPG, which equates to: $2778 per year in gas or saving of nearly $3,500 a year. In 10 years you would have paid off the car by 1.5 times (and that's with gas staying the exact same price). Your logic is flawed.

Yes it does work for some people, no you shouldn't trade in a brand new car for one. But if you are driving a 1979 F150, it probably will help the environment. Don't say diesel is clean, at least currently it produces far more hydrocarbons than gas.

There are far more self-righteous douches who drive vegetable oil or biodiesel converted cars than prius owners. In CA they are just a normal car, not a personal statement. In other states that might not be true and they suck to drive in the snow.

sorry i just read a news article that in my area they are in such high demand that dealers can mark up the price. People are on waiting lists to get these cars, so before you say my logic is flawed it wasnt my logic it was me reading a newspaper article
