yowza, those are some cool skis.

I really like that there are different options for topsheet and base, thats very cool. Been waiting for a ski company to do that for a long time.

I see they use UHMW bases, which is kick ass for performance, but can't be repaired if its gouged. Kind of a trade off.

Them's pricey too. Are you going to try some?
 
I'm definately trying some... I'm thinkin of tryin the original with the quadraxial glass.. If they have them around... I dont know why, but I'm dying to get a hold of some stiffer skis.

Course, gotta try the doughboys, see what they are all aboot.

But sometimes they charge you, it depends. Like when sturtevents came up to crystal, they charged a $20 "registration fee" but you gotta demo from like 5-6 different companys, so we'll see
 
we send "demos" out of the shop for $35 a day, and its just one ski! what a deal!

However that $35 can be credited towards a purchase, so its not too bad

Me too, thats awesome though if you dont want to support a small ski company out of the Northwest that has customizalbe graphics and bases. Oh yeah, I didnt rent them because I got up there late and there was no way in hell I was letting snowboarding gapers who were in the slalom to take the lines. But after the day I flexed some of their skis. THe original was a bit stiffer if not the same flex as my MSP's. The doughboys were stiffer.
 
Did you see if they were the triaxial or quadaxial glass?

I'm assuming quad would be stiffer/heavier, just because of more material
 
They were triaxial. When the rep showed me the two different cores on snowboards, the quadraxial was definetly stiffer, but its hard to compare the flex to what it would be on skis. She said quad glass would also give the ski more life. I dont know about the stiffer part though.

Next year Im either buying Head Mojo 105 (Jon Pro Model) or Prior Original 188 w/Quadglass - CDN$1000.
 
Ah thats sick... yeah for me its either the Prior Doughboy's w/quad or Volkl Gotoma's... whoever I can get a deal from I suppose

I need to get home so I can go demo some when they go up to Crystal... shit
 
no i dont want to support a small company. i can get better, tested, proven equipment cheaper. and i dont give a flying fuck about customizable grafikkks. so no. fuck prior.
 
Sorry dude, custom skis are a helluva lot tougher then any factory ski.

Plus, small companies like Prior can't afford to have abunch of complainer customers, so any issue they have with the skis, Prior fixes it immediately.
 
haha, wow, first of all, let me remind you of all of the small companies that when they first started they had issues. you cant get around it. and second, no one is complaining, especially not me. and i have had great results getting things warranteed from the big companies that CAN afford these so called COMPLAINERS.
 
Yeah, when companies FIRST START OUT. Prior's been around for atleast 15 years now.

Second, custom made anything is going to have a lower scrap ratio then mass produced products.

Also, have you ever seen a Prior commercial? They have to rely on word of mouth, and if that word of mouth is negitive, they just lost afew potential customers. This is why they must have excellent customer service.

And in the end, it's cool to support the small guys, the ones that are doing it because they love it. I'd love to hear a CEO of Rossi or Solomon come out and announce that.
 
thats even worse. theyve been around for 15 years and i have never heard of them much less seen one of there skis, much less seen any one with any reputation ever use one. you can stop trying to convince me, and tell me all about ratio this and word of mouth that and blah blah blah, becuase basically, no one cares, no one here has them, is going to get them and evven if they say that they are interested, in the end they wont actualyy pay the rediculous price for them, so you dont have to try and rep your friends company, because you wouldnt be doing this if you didnt know the peopel involved with the company. im right, your wrong. end of story.
 
and i find it really great how you have a rossi scratch logo as your pic, and you dont actually own any of these skis. so therefore you equal a giant tool. so what your motivation is i dont know. preach about supporting small companys when you do yourself. bitch.

Don't get all mad at me, I'm just stating the facts. What other ski company has a "20cm rule: It snows 20cm, the office is closed until noon." I just like supporting companies that are out there for the love of the sport. Now I'm reasonable about this, if I can get a better deal elsewhere, perhaps I'll go for it. However, the whole reason I started this was to tell others about an opportunity to demo some custom made skis.

Please, for the sake of everyone here, pull your head out of your ass.

goddamnit laughfagtime or whatever, for christsakes, you cant see the forest through the trees. but none of that really made sense except for the fact that you sound like a fucking tool and an industry whore. and the reason they have a 20CM RULE!!! is because its probably a company that employs 10 people tops. sorry dude, but your just a bitch and a fag.
