Principle Fired Due to His Sexuality, Students Hold Sit In

From the Change.org campaign statement:

We, the student body at Eastside Catholic School, have experienced an egregious injustice which was inflicted by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle. Our beloved vice principal, Mr. Zmuda, was terminated by the Archdiocese as a result of his marriage to another man. The student body is outraged that an incredible administrator, coach, and human being was fired solely because of his love and marriage for another human being. We are uniting in order to change the Catholic Church’s opposition of gay marriage. It is time to revisit the policy and act as Jesus would have, loving and supporting every person regardless of their marital status. United, we want this policy changed so that the Catholic Church can achieve its mission of acting with unconditional love in every situation.

And Later:

The students at Eastside Catholic High School staged a successful sit in today to educate, spread awareness, and take a stand on the Catholic Church's gay marriage policy. We garnered the support of almost all of the other Catholic schools in the Seattle area who held a similar sit in. Our goal, however, is not to make this a one day event. We intend to come up with a plan to present our complaints as a Catholic community and beyond to the Catholic Church. The beauty of being a Catholic is that we are allowed to disagree and engage in discussion with our Church. This is our right. We are taking it. Help us get there.

Oh this isn't my school, I just agree with what they're trying to do and wanted to spread the word!

Look! It's a bunch of spoiled brats thinking they can change things at a PRIVATE institution that their parents pay a ridiculous amount of money for them to attend! It's so cute seeing all these retards misunderstanding how things work...

But really though, how does this school feel this is within their belief system when the FUCKING POPE said that you cannot judge or take negative action upon someone simply because they prefer the same sex? You know, the same teachings that JESUS was spreading the word of before he was persecuted for his beliefs?

Ah yes, religion... follow the rules until you disagree and then you magically become the voice of God, instead of the dude who was chosen by your religion to represent the institution of what you believe in. Despite him being appointed as the word of God by your religion that you have followed since birth, the Pope is really more of a guideline because religion... fuck it.

"students hold sit in"

in non-pussyliberal terms thats called skipping class with all your friends in the cafeteria so you don't seem like that a bigot nerdy kid sitting in the classroom; of course that is until the bell rings and you get to go smoke weed with your friends and celebrate that you don't have any homework tonight.

I mean yeah, it sucks he got fired, but if you're gay, why the fuck would you decide to go and become a principal at a Catholic school.

I graduated from a Catholic high school and most of my school was actually made up of kids from middle class families. Some fellow students were piss poor, but still attended through financial aid. It's a pretty distasteful generalization to assume that anyone who goes to a Catholic school is automatically affluent when really a small percentage of the school is. I'd guess that 5% of my graduating class could be classified as spoiled brats. In comparison to the public school system, that percentage is probably not far off.

You'd be amazed at how many people at a Catholic school are actually paying little to nothing, but with such an overhead as the Archdioceses, I assume they can leisurely give out financial aid, and thus is why such a phenomenon exists.

You missed the point of my post because you're an idiot and you got distracted by a simple insult that you know to be wrong... and you don't have to be rich to be spoiled or a brat. That's a distasteful generalization to assume that all rich kids are spoiled brats. You suck.

Religious people are not necessarily anti-gay. It 2013 most people don't give a shit if someone else is gay. People are evolving. Some people use religion as an excuse to gay bash. Credit other religous people for standing up and saying that is wrong.

Im going to try and put into context the reason societies centuries ago HAD to make laws against homosexuality. Things were just different back 800 years ago in 1213. THEY HAD TO MAKE BEING GAY ILLEGAL.

Remember in the past it was common for people to marry a woman and have kids with her and then fuck young boys on the side. Instead of fuck girls on the side since girls get pregnant and a married man isn't supposed to father bastard children with women that aren't his wife. So a lot of male-male relationships were of that nature.

Young boys make preferable sex slaves to young girls they don't get pregnant. That was the motivation for making homosexuality illegal in past societies. Remember they didn't have contraceptives. You could'nt just buy condoms. Women couldn't take a pill. Do you like to pull out? Why would someone who lived 1000 years want to pull out? Maybe they'd fuck a male instead...

Go to Asia and you can find strait men who fuck other men and its not gay (its not gay in those cultures to fuck lady boys.) That was just what a lot of extramarital sex was like. Heterosexual sex in early societies was risky the woman was likely to get pregnant. Homosexual sex wasn't. I'm just trying to provide some context for why people centuries ago would be united and against homosexuality. Most homosexual relationships weren't between consenting adults they were prostitution.

Remember shit like that wasn't exactly uncommon in the church hence the need to brand homosexuality as criminal.

I saw this shit on the news like 8 times before i recognized the town I grew up in the background of the on the interviews and was like holy shit!

No shit and I never said they were. As for the rest of your post, I didn't read any of that bullshit. Nice job wasting all that time, stupid boy.

you aren't talking out your ass for once

at least there's some hope for a future generation of catholics right?

At least these students are realizing early that the Catholic Church is evil and does a great job suppressing people and making them feel bad for "sins."

The church created this problem for our culture..

It's all a big nothing.

yes, but if you were gay, it's pretty obvious that you won't be able to be the principal there. >Catholic schools teach kids not to be gay

>principles are thought of as role-models

>obviously doesn't want a gay role-model

As a "catholic" (lol) i have to laugh at this purely for the fact that the Pope made a statement about "how can he judge homosexuals?". Forgot the exact quote and lol'd because I haven't been practicing in many moons, don't plan on it, and this is about the 100th thing they've done that's made me wanna distance myself from the church even farther.

Yeah and being a graduate of logicless Catholic elementary schools..... how the hell are they gonna afford this lawsuit?

Answer: Extra collections
