I'm not saying that's unimportant. Lots of shit is happening this year that's sad, but a lot of celebrities dying is also one of them. I basically woke up today and found out that Chyna and Prince died.
 
Damn dude this is sad. I was just watching Purple Rain yesterday and it gets better every time. RIP to a legend

I would have liked his music if he would have let me f*&king listen to it. Regardless, being a fellow Minnesotan I can't help but feel sorry for his family. It sounds like he wasn't even in poor health prior to this month.

Dingo, I get that you're a mod, or whatever, and that you have the discretion to delete offensive/unnecessarily stupid content, but I really hope I don't exist in an NS world where you decide that a comment is garbage.. Was it offensive? Repetitive/spammy? I mean, let's be real, in a world where "this thread is dildos" is a legitimate comment, a comment about Prince having a disease that could very well explain a sudden, relatively benign virus resulting in death with some source material from TMZ (aka where celebrities go to air their shit when they feel like it) shouldn't be something that you have the power to determine as garbage and thus delete.

When somebody posts something as blatent as "prob aids" and nothing else, it usually is a red flag for us mods...

Reason? The whole connection between aids and homosexuality.

If he had made a post saying even so much as "people are saying he may have died from aids" that may have been entirely different... This isn't about free speech. Posts like this have been deleted many times in the past. Nothing new.

As for Skiierman calling me a little bitch and telling me to grow up... That shit is gold considering his history of being repeatedly banned from this site for inflammatory behaviour. Talk about someone who will never grow up... Who the shit keeps unbanning that dude.

Well that's a stretch, HIV/AIDS is also highly correlated with intravenous drug use which seems to be a more likely scenario. You read a lot into two words, bud. Trying not to get involved in this shitshow. I live in Monneapolis and Jesus the outpouring of love for him has been insane at my school they've played his music over the PA, and every teacher has mentioned it . The city is even lighting up the bridges purple for a few days. It's good to feel undies as a city after something like the Jamar Clark case. It's actually a tragedy that he died so randomly

Why is it shocking to you that a lot of people care about a person they knew of versus a person they didnt?

I mean if a skier dies they shouldnt get more attention than some homeless guy just because they could ski well right?

In the end it really has little to do with what anyone deserves and who people know of and admire. Pretty simple concept honestly.
