For those of you that don't know, Primedia is the parent company of ASG, (Action Sports Group) which owns Powder magazine. I know this is going to be a lot for most of you to digest, but check it out, it's some interesting stuff. Long story short, it's not all sunshine and puppy dogs up top, should be interesting to see how it shakes out down the line.

dave, i saw that coming when they started calling me eveyr month or so offering 3 more years worth of subscription to powder for like 10 bucks.

very interesting but no where did they say that powder would be cancled. they are just talkig about breaking the parrent company up.

i know it's a little off topic, but it's insane how much some of that stuff sells for. like a website for $400 million?

This isn't anything new. Transworld snowboarding has been bought and sold more times than anyone can even keep track of. Powder has been bought and sold a few times too, I believe.

Even if Primedia falls apart completely, chances are that the magazines will continue on if they are profitable or have the chance of being profitable short term. The only problem this might cause right now is if the parent corp starves the magazines to keep HQ afloat. You won't see too much of it showing in the mag, but the people who work there won't be as happy.
