I heard its going to be around 550 for chairs, 650 for tram, even WITH the freeskier's association. Thats up from the 450 for chairs LAST year (which I thought was redunkulous, given that two years ago it was about 375 for chairs)!

The bird's bullshit attitude, and their lack of care about any of their season passholders is getting worse and worse all the time.

If they would stop selling tickets after a quota, collapse the fucking tunnel to mineral, and install a "Gad 3", and possibly one returning from white pine canyon, I would be a Bird local 4 LYFE.

But alas, It looks like Brighton this year due to the cheapness of the passes, the fact THAT SNOWBIRD ISN'T GOING TO HAVE A BABY THUNDER PARK THIS COMING YEAR, plus the BC access.

Oh, and that awesome high speed quad up Milly.

Thats ALMOST as good of an idea as a TUNNEL THROUGH THE FUCKING MOUNTAIN.

was baby thunder park like the big park? cause that link i poted earlier looks pretty crappy. 15ft table..?

I know its $500 for a student pass, but here in Wisconsin at my local HILL aka 350 foot tall hill with ALL MAN MADE snow its $300. GET OVER IT, you can ski a fucking mountain.

Yeah... but in Colorado you get to ski a fucking mountain too and they have a 5 mountain pass for like $300 or less. Mammoth/June you get to ski a mountain, and they had college passes for $99. Utah it's roughly $500 for a pass to ONE of the ski areas. They get so much business from vacationers that you'd think they would be able to help the local college students out.

You are way off there big guy. The five mountain pass is like 419 now and June only is 99. The Mammoth one is 400ish and that sold out really fast since there is a limited number.

those are way too expensive. Whistler/Blackcomb passes are around $500 for youth, I don't know about student rates, but they're probably even cheaper.

And hell, that's a world class mountain.

Oh NOEZ! only $119 more for FIVE MOUNTAINS, I pay $300 for ONE HILL. I don't know why people bitch so much, you have no clue how lucky you are to actually ski a mountain. What you take for granted, I would kill to have.

calm down, all of us are broke. it's lame that a large resort won't help out the local kids, and in fact make it harder for broke colloege students to afford a pass. We all pay to live in Utah, you can do it too.

I'm not worked up at all. I just find it hilarious that people freak out about $400 to ski some of the best terrain and I pay $300 for a sledding hill. It's not like I'm Mr. Moneybags either...

its because of the whole quadrapalegic guy that sued Snoqualmie, insurance premiums rose and snowbird doesn't want to get sued for another asshole that gets hurt in a terrain park like the guy that sued Snoqualmie..

snowbirds known for their big mountain stuff and if someone gets hurt on a natural feature then they don't have to worry. However, they are still going to have their baby terrain park and their superpipe which this year will hopefully be a lot better then previous years since they wont have to maintain jumps and the pipe.

brandon...... not a money bag?? lol ur nickname is the BANK! lol workin at the KO?? come on nigga u gotta be rakin in some cash... haha no i totally agree on this on with you... u guys are complaining bout payin w.e it was and we are stickin out like 425 a year to ski some hill that is probs comparable to ur bunny hill? it just sucks... deal with the cost since everybody else does...

it's lame because last year, it was 450 for tram and 350 for chair, and they raised it 200 dollars both ways. It's stupid that they can't keep it down for college kids. Snowbird has this sort of elitist attitude in a lot they do, ie getting rid of the park.

Like I said, If you are in college and want to ride snowbird, come to utah. If you aren't in college yet, when you decide where you are going, go to utah. If it's your choice to live there, don't try to tell utah people they are wrong for being upset over drastic, and illogical price increases.

Cost of living increases. I'd imagine that operating costs are soaring with the quickly rising energy costs.

Plus, they are charging what the markets will bear. If you don't like the increases, then vote with your wallet and take your business elsewhere. If enough people do this, they will reduce their pricing.

yea, i agree. I have a feeling that a bunch of people will be voting with their wallets this year. I know that it makes the choice of where to get a pass easier for me.

i pay like 200ish for my local "mountain" which is a whole 2006 feet yeah. so i wouldnt complain to pay 500-700 for some world class skiing. even though it is a shitload of money for me, fucking only make 8 an hour haha

A lot of the kids I ski with HAVE payed $400 to ski a 500 vert or less hill. I did it for years, but when I was in highschool and didn't worry about rent, tuition, books, etc. Now that I'm in college and DO have to pay for those things paying $500 for a pass sucks, regardless of the terrain. I mean... I'll still do it as it's worth it, but damn.

Big sky has just as much terrain if not less good terrain than snowbird, and that shits 700 bucks +, i see a pass being 500 as a cheap pass, im used to paying 600 for big sky (student).

Would you pay $454 for a season pass to ONLY this HILL?

alpine%20valley.jpg

Didn't think so.

All you midwest and east coast people telling us SLC kids to stop our belly aching...

Shut up.

Fine ur paying 400 dollars for 20 feet of vert. Sucks to be you.

Now what if your local mountain almost DOUBLED the price of student passes in the past three years.

While the bird still has the best terrain in Utah, and is easily one of the top three resorts in the US as far as vert and challenging terrain are concerned...

This is the straw that broke the camel's back. The resort doesn't give two fucks about the riders that fork over a lot of money (for college kids or ski bums), and would rather take the side of the schmuck that comes out for 3 days in December, bitches about the shitty weather and that the mountain is too steep. blah stippers calling me ill continue my tirad later

Sure it sucks that the price got jacked. But I fail to have compassion for people bitching about a pass price that is on par with the rest of the industry when it comes to resorts.

It sucks that EVERYTHING is getting more and more expensive these days, but what can you do about it?

You either work a few extra hours for a few weeks to get together the money to ski there, or go somewhere where the pass is cheaper, but then you run the risk of the skiing being lesser.

We all have to do the same. I don't know of anyplace where the cost of living and the cost of luxuries are getting cheaper.

yeah seriously, i live in upstate new york and a seasons pass is $500 something. now consider that with east coast weather. mountain doesnt open til mid december and it sucks, your skiing mud and bumps. no park til mid january. no pow. no real skiing

the suits have won. the bird is longer a place for the youth market. no more park, a bs tunnel and new housing developement on the hill. deer valley round 2

You have my deapest sympathies. looks like your life is going to be a copleat fucking disaster this year. Sorry if I am not cryingfor you as I fork out around $700-$800 this year on passes. Life's harsh
