Preventing injury

what are some of your guy's methods on preventing knee and back injury i.e. stretchs etc. . everytime i spend a long day in the park i wake up the next morning with a sore back and tweaked my knee yesterday landing backseat :( want to prevent days like this in the future. and i know i gunna get replies like 'get good' and stuff like that :P

i hurt my knees all the time, i dont know what you can do to not, its a joint not a muscle

CJ knows what's up. Core workouts. I'll add leg press and some other leg stuff to that, as well as aerobic exercises, like running, cycling, etc. Oh, and stretch. A lot. It's important.

just work out, core works well if you back is getitng sore, for legs do some squats and crap for better pop, for knees... don't land in the flats

yoga, tai chi, pilates

any of those streching programs will prevent tons of muscle injuries

running is pretty bad on your knees, biking is good, or if you run dont run on cement/asphalt, run on a gravel/dirt track or grass or something, i also stretch a lot before i ski, its helps...also a lot of people over-look streching after you ski, its just as important...

core workouts are the best, like a football workout, *squat, bench*not totally necesary* powerclean, dead lift, leg press* anything that will strengthen the muscle around your joints, but SHIT does happen, i do all of that and i lift really hard and i just recently tore my MCL ACL and dislocated my patella, so no matter what shit is gonna happen

 
don't forget to work your shoulders.....i think the only reason i dislocated mine this season was because i didn't work my shoulders out in the off season

if you are paranoid about getting injured then just dont ski or if injured, ski a season but stay on the ground, and wait till the next season for hitting cliffs and such

^no, if you're paranoid about getting injured then take the necessary precautions so the chance of getting injured is lessened. Stretching is key, so your body gets real loose and can absorb more impact and any twisting that might be done to your legs and arms doesn't injure you. Otherwise just doing what you want to stay in shape helps a lot too. Running isn't that bad for your knees if u know how to run right. A lot of people let their feet slap on the ground, instead of easing the foot onto the ground, and that hurts your whole leg.

yea biking is way better than running

and running on grass is a kagillion times better than concrete

it feels nice on grass

especially barefoot surrounded by posies and other fragrant flowers....

while all the workouts will help, personally, I think yoga will do a ton - it really focuses on core strength. Also, for joints, Glucosamine-Condrioton (sp?) has helped out my knees, but its something that you have to take on a regular basis.

bah! your all wasting your time, luck is the key. it has prevented me from serious injury in many many occasions, whether it be landing and crashing on a 17ft. cliff to an uphill landing with only 2 inches of pow pow might I add, or bailing on 20 foot battleship rails. luck is tha way to go.

Why don't you take a long walk on a short peir.
