Preventing edge cracks?

don't ski rails.

If you do, edges will eventually get damaged. That is just what happens when you take a thin strip of metal and slam it against other metal objects all day.

Don't always wear one ski on only your left or your right foot, switch it up every now and then.

I heard Salamon edge armor may help...

I just bought a pair of skis with edge damage..(thread jack) and i was wondering if there was any way to protect the skis from getting water in them. +k for good answers

yes i understand the concept of it, i wanted to know if there is anything one can do to the ski to prevent it

you should take a fine metal file and go over your edges underfoot only with it just a bit so that it rounds them a bit. this will decrease your edge hold, but that would happen anyways after a bit.

but never file your edges that are more then about 6 inches to either side of the center of the ski because you will have no edge hold, and its not nessesary for your edges to be dull up there

Edge armour didn't do much, the edges on my suspects wore down faster than any other ski I've owned."Normal" edges are better in my opinion.
