better to try on rails or boxes?? i can get the two sevs on boxs all the time i cant get the.. grip for the pretzel. and i havent had the chance to do'm on rails this year so, wich is better to do'm on?

personaly its harder for me on boxes to pretzel cus the box is wide and it is harder to get that scissor in than on a rail where you can just sip grip and drip

generally i would say its easier to learn stuff on boxes, but if you can 270 onto rail good i would say that its easier to scissor on rails to spin off.

definately on a rail is easier because youi dont have to figure out the perfect angle to come onto the box so you can set your edge. but rails can be scarier. so if you can find an easy low rail go for that but if not, a narrow box is always good

pretty much wats already been said. its easier to 270 onto a box. but easier to scissor on a rail. take your pick

aim for the far side of the box so more of your ski hangs off, its easier. i did my first pretzel the other day. and it was on one of those corrugated giant pipe things. it was fun.

its easier to two sev out of rails but its harder to two sev out of boxes. If you can't two sev on yet i would first try it on boxes. If you can get the two sev on and pretzel it out on a box, your pretty set to try it on rails

I was tryiing to learn them on a fat box at Boreal. I got a 270 to switch. Correct me if Im wrong but it almost seems like when people pretzel on boxes they do a 180 onish thing and let there front ski catch to pretzel. It took me a lot of effort to even get the coming off switch from a 270 on.

It kinda depends on how you plan on initiating the pretzel. If you wanna do the scissor thing you're gonna want to do it on the rail because it's hard to scissor on a wide surface. For pretzels though you can also just dig both your edges down into the box/rail. If you do it this way it would be easier on a box because this motion can be done on either, but it'd be easier to balance while doing it on a box.

if you can do 270's onto a rail i wud do it on them but have u tryed gas pedaling? it makes it so much easier to get the 270 off

its hard to explain but gas pedaling is after u 270 or w.e your doing on u take ur front foot an u tilt it so its on its edge and this stops your rotation and makes it easier to spin off

How should i visualize the gas pedal?>
Do you need to bend your knee? or just swing your foot back? and up?

its defintly way easier on rails but if your not comfortable with two ons for a box, just try to catch the side of the box so that its more like a rail with support from the rest of the box.
