Pretty gay question

expert skier...

new to twin tips and the park scene...

when measuring how tall my skis should be, should they reach my chin, my nose, or what?

any where within you face region would be fine, it depends on how you mount the though i.e centered, directional, core...

that is a gay question! just kidding. I would say about your forehead is a good size, but it depends on what you want, but you cant go too far wrong with your forehead

How to size skis? Twin-tips are odd in the sense that the norm now for recreational skiing is to have skis way shorter than you are for quicker turns and more control. Having a ski as tall as you, if not taller is our odd way of doing it.

thats not a bad question, have some confidence! anywhere in your face region is fine, and the length that is right for you depends on the shape and flex of the ski as well.

so this question likes other men? weird

So basically what your seeing is that everyone has a personal preference. It depends on your height and weight along with ability. It also depends on what type of conditions you're skiing. When I ski back country lines/powder, I ride a 188-195cm that is at least 100mm wide under foot. When I ride park/jib I go with a 179-185cm that is 80-90mm under foot. As a rule of thumb, going with something from chin to forehead will be good. 78-90mm under foot will be a ski that will cater to your desire. You have to take it from there and figure out what you dig. I'm 5'11" and weigh in at 175lbs.

im pretty shure this is a girl. and anyway, id say go with head high, especially if the ski your looking at is lighter. cause you are center mounted, and that you have 20 Cm less running area (twin tip), twin tips always feel alot shorter. plus, a longer ski is easier to land on. honsetly, there isnt anything to gain by going on the shorter side (you may feel like you can huck stuff around faster), but there is a ton to gain by goin longer (speed, stability, smoother carving, better looking, ect). id say go to the top of your head, and if your still growing, skin them til they are nose high

Im not outta line your outta line the whole frikin system is outta line and when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo and find out its your best friends face, well guess what marge its chinatown.

195 thats almost a fukin racing ski

if it were easier it would be called snowboarding

i like the sticker that says " Ya mum rides a Snowboard"

how does length have anything to do with what type of ski it is. Just because its a 195 doesn't mean it's a race ski. It could be a fat powder ski.

1918 is history mother fuckers 2004 CHAMPIONS!!!

i guess i like em long because im 5 foot 6 and am ridin a 179 fujative. which happens to be longer than a 181 scratch. its def taller than me

im like 5'9'' and i have 169 chronics...they are like at the top of my eye level....i might do a trade with this guy next year for the 179 chronics.....

okiee.....i'm like 5'1 and i have 162 and i'ma girl, i think they should be as tall as you are!!

as long you feel comfortable riding them..i say...!!!

jesus you guys... is this the 50's?!.. sizing skis based on where on your body they come up to!?!?

Go to a good shop and they'll help you out... it all depends on your weight... the width and shape of the ski... your style of skiing... what you want to use them for (buttering and rails only... jumps and all mountain... carving)... the conditions you're using them for (park powder etc)... there are a lot of variables...

i'm 5'4 and i have a pair of 159s, 160s and a pair of 169s. i like the 169s the best.

umm...anywhere in your face region is too small. If you're a true expert skier you should be able to 360 on 185s. I am an ex racer and I must say being experianced doesn't make a huge deal out of sizing. but in the face region is short and gay looking. get some so they're up to the top of your head, or higher. then mount them tru-center for steeze results.

I live in a place far far away, where on occasion the telly tubbies will come to play....and that's when Ma gets out the shotgun. Damn critters climb in our gutter system all the time.

No shit. But given that most readers here are teenagers to early twenties and of average build, it's reasonable to suggest lengths by comparing them to body heights.

As suggested, go long, you won't regret it. Go at least as long as a GS ski you'd use, especially if you're a good skier like you say.
