yes, we do give more, but i also think the giving should be discretionary, and i think thats where we fall short.

Let's face it there is always a more worthy cause no matter who is President or what is going on in the world.

Look at all the shit around you. Look at your clothes, your computer, your skis, your car, your TV, etc. All things we don't need in life (except clothes) yet we still buy them and spend ridiculous amounts of money on them.

I have said it before and I will say it again. All this talk about the inauguration money is bull-shit. Look at past presidents. There is always something tragic going on in the world where the inauguration money could be donated to but it doesn't happen. Clinton's in '96 had 40 million spent on it.

As far as the protestors go...well, its no big deal. We all know there will rarely ever be conservative protestors because they all have jobs. Everyon protesting Bush is just another frickin' socialist hoping for a free-ride off of someone else's cash...and they have never held down a job for more than 4 months. (sarcasm stamp...)

had bush decided to forgo his elaborate inaguration, he probably would have saved around 60 million dollars. okay, let pause a second and think. where in the world today could use that kind of money?

well for starters, how about the fucking tsunami relief fund? or, what about armoring our hummers in combat? or, a hugely overlooked problem, feeding third world countries? that money could have fed them for decades. and any of these options would have scored HUGE points for Bush in my book. instead, he decided to celebrate HIS personal triumph over the people of america.
