Kissing Bridge is near Buffalo, NY if anyone is wondering. It's the first time they've ever done this, so I cannot comment on how it will be setup or if it will be good or not.

Just spreading the word of an event.

Just people showing up is promoting the scene. I suck as much, if not more than you.

It's about a bunch of people coming out, having fun, and showing KB how important the park is.

Not sure how it will go either? Langmen is back running the park this year (good news indeed) and C-Naug from Phatman is a driving force behind this event. I do know we will showing some of the new Ski/Board movies in the Lake Effect after the event and big a$$ dump trucks are reported to be bringing in the snow. I would suspect if it is near 70 and sunny it will be very sketchy, if the weather is seasonal it should be fine. I judged the event in Mentor Ohio last September (06) and it apparently can be done without much in the way of snow, ya'all seemed to be pretty willing to slid around in the mud and hay. Pretty cool that the competitors were willing to do this and had big old smiles ear to ear as they went crashing through the wet hay. Phatman/245 and Eric are taking this seriously and I suspect it will go without a hitch if expectations are in line with the season. Speaking of 245, they have taken over the running of the KB Shop and will actually be providing our skiers and riders with full service honest to goodness ski and board shop stuff. To be perfectly clear... I am an employee of KB, my name is Andy Minier, if you PM me I will respond and do my best to awns. your questions, I am an old Retro grouch Tele skier and telemark to racer to boot, so cut me some slack on the newschool stuff, I'll do my best to impart any clear and well presented arguments and ideas from this forum to the MAN at KB. In the past we have been able to affect some changes through ideas presented by riders on forums and blogs etc. Despite my retrogrouchiness I am in your corner, trust me a strong contigent of management would like to see the park stretch to three times it's current size over the next two or three years, your polite and helpful comments can go a long way toward making this happen. - Good Day.

Welcome! We all know about you here andy, lol. Moderator of the blog 2 years ago, and webmaster I think? Glad to see you here finally! Anywho, check your PMs, in a few minutes you'll have an invite to the KB cult. Where, if you'd like, from time to time speak to KB's skiers and read our input.

Looks like we may possibly have some real snow on the ground, with lake effect forecast for Thursday night, accumulation likely in the higher areas of Southern Erie county. The jam will be included in some radio spots next week pertaining to the Swap and Open house and the Edge will be broadcasting live during the day on Saturday. If you have not been out to the KB swap on a Sat. afternoon before you should expect a big crowd checking out the action.

oh man i wish i could make it out for this, not likely though, i'm up at school in potsdam (atleast 5 hours away) and i'm gonna have a shit load of work to do that weekend. i'll see if i can pull something off and make it down. as an organizer of a successful pre-season event at my local ski area in central new york (toggenburg), i can definitely vouche for a good turnout opening management's eyes to the whole freestyle scene. after two years of putting the event on i now have management on my side and things are really looking up in the freestyle department. hopefully i can make it down and i'll definitely spread the word. good luck with the event for sure, hope to be there.

Potsdam eh! Great small town close to lots of Adirondak fun. I went to school at SLU in Canton (now that is a sleepy town) but spent more time at the hoot owl than in class. I learned to Tele hiking in and around the "snowbowl" SLU's defunct ski area, complete with a dilapitated nordic ski jump back when I was there! Bought my first pair of tele boards at Wear on Earth (still around?) with a trade in of my alpine race skis. Enjoy your time up there, it is a wonderful place. Flip night at Maxfields ? Hope you can make it Saturday.

haha you've described the area oh too well. wear on earth is definitely still here and doing good business, and flip night at maxfields is still the place to be since Duff's got shut down last fall and lost their liquor license for serving to minors. Hope to make it next weekend.

From what I hear the "snow" is lined up from local ice rinks as well as the transport to get it hear, Rumour round here is a barrel, a box and a rail will be used. It will be a an event we have not run and we will learn from it, the thought now is to make it an annual happening. I know of one freestyle team and some very good Canadian riders who are down. I am really looking forward to see how it goes.

I'm headed down, hopefully with my friend in RJ. I'm sure there's a bunch of Schuss kids around that are heading down as well.

Saw the setup.

There is a flat box angled downwards, and a down rail, sidxe by side, and a big barrel/gas tank jib afterwards in the flats.

Looks like it'll be a TON of fun.

Wow, crazy turn out. Something like 130+ riders.

It was a bit hectic, but still fun to be there. I only hit it once, because my subpar rail skills were not feeling the difficulty getting speed.

Looks like everyone had tons of fun, and hopefull that fuel tank becomes a mainstay in the park this year.

does anyone know if theres gonna be pics of videos from the comp floating around? if they are, where can i find them?

Keep checking back here.

Ian was there taking tons of photos. His username is Bangor on here.

He's been busy with schoolwork, but should have some photos up soon.

My understanding was that a few pro photogs were roaming around and that I will some pics for the KB site this week, I will post asap. The amount of rider who showed up to session a few hits did not go without making an impression on the upper level management at KB. Kudos to the sponsors, builders and compretitors!
