Killington looks like it might open saturday (10/13/12)

Anyone going? If they say they will, I'll be there

blowing already

cold temps tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night (well within blowing realm)

they wouldnt be blowing right now if they weren't going for it. The snow the posted in the pics was more than just "testing systems/cleaning"

they havent said anything, based on pics and temperatures though it looks good

Dude, do you know when SR is going to be open? I've been trying to figure it out, I want to get up there. Also I heard the Loaf got snow... they are probably blowing soon too.

Definitely not gonna happen this weekend they literally just started making snow...

Hopefully the weather stays consistently cold enough though.. we might see progress in the next few weeks considering the temps stay below freezing at night.

LAME.

I have a feeling us non season pass holders will be able to ski next weekend. and if not, I got an itch SR will open next saturday.

Killington opened one trail today for season pass holders only. If I didn't have a field hockey game today, id be shredding all day.

Ya i have a feeling next week ms will have there jam if not next week def week after an think killy will open up for every one in the next week or so.

looks reasonable for blowing some snow at least a few days this week at SR, maybe next weekend will be open!

cold is supposed to move in next monday, they said most likely not this coming weekend

We will be skiing not this weekend but next weekend, I guarantee it. Cold temps will be moving in as soon as next Monday, and will remain like that all week. 5 snow-making days=SR, Killy, and maybe some wild card opening. This is the Granite_State Guarantee, if im wrong, my punishment shall be to drink a lot of beer and smoke a lot of weed until I pass out.

I dont get how they're saying this, I cant find a weather report for the area that shows cold weather next week. I guess it is still early though

after the hurricane thing passes on monday ish. right behind that is a big cold front... thats why the higher elevations in NY PA and maybe new england MIGHT get snow during the storm.

after that there will be some cold clear nights. aka snowmaking and then skiing

If FUCKING someone doesnt FUCKING open in the next FUCKING few weeks then I will be FUCKING outraged.

Seriously though this warm weather bullshit needs to stop...

Preseason reboots this thursday at sunday river. We will be opening up with good snow and not that heavy snow making shit that we normally open up to.

FUCK. YES!

Will be there thursday if they deliver. Source?

Also, is that new terrain park going to be in place this winter?

I work at sunday river and we are very fucking tired of not being open. The new terain park trail was not put in place this year but should be next year. We will eventually put that trail in. We desperately need to. We did however thinned out hardball top to bottom, thinned out blind ambition top to bottom, thinned out skiers left of absolutely, and thinned out even more of the skiers left side of dream maker. We invested 1 mill on new snow guns and the are fucking awesome. They don't blow heavy snow making snow like most guns. We also bough another park bully groomer.

Supposedly that's in their 5 year plan which isn't gonna happen this year..

So fucking lame I wish they put more of an effort into building their parks.

We are actually phasing out parks which pisses me off. We are going down to two parks once we put in that new trail

IMO quality > quantity. Just make sure they have one kickass one on the new trail and I'll be happy

Yeah its more of the quality>quantity. We will always have a park but sunday river is turning extremely corporate and is very family market driven. On that trail we are making though it is going to be a kick ass park. Its going to be something we are actually proud to show dumont cup on tv.

How does that make any sense in terms of a strategic business method? Think of all the extra revenue that could be generated from having a legit park that could compare to Loons or Mt Snows. It would definitely attract a much bigger crowd. SR has never excelled in having good parks compared to other resorts anyways so I don't know why they would decide to cut back on it even more...

Also how do we even know that you're a credible source you've been a member for a month dude.

here is some proof. To the left of the barcode says staff 30% and on the 2011/2012 says staff 30%/F&B 50%.

Sunday river hasn't given any employees passes besides head of comp and events, Dana Bullen, and Brent Larson.

Boynes thinking is park rats+families=bad vibes. The thinking of how things are run are very confusing to me. We have multiple areas where we have junk just lying around and in these areas we could make profit but instead are things owned by the company that are a "asset".

Do know if Starlight or Rocking chair is getting the axe? I can't see them throwing out rocking chair but without starlight lower Whitecap is gonna be a ghost town with those 2 shitty quads.

rocking chair will get the ax first once the new trail is cut. That trail is suppose to replace the jib park and rocking chair. Starlight should stick around. We need to have something for progression/boarderX

so if jib park goes, will the new one have night skiing? Full/main park + night skiing ===== SO FUCKING EPIC

the new park will have lights. We already have the lights just need to wait for next winter for the trail to be cut.

While I was working today it was snowing in aurora basin while I was putting pads on the chairs today. Russ Murley say we will actually get some accumulation here soon which would be awesome but not expecting any.

Killy opens Monday!

Our hardworking snowmakers were able to set up over 50 snow guns top to

bottom on Rime Friday night, and we’re making snow right now. However,

with the projected overnight temperature and high humidity levels,

snowmaking will by DownloadNSave" id="_GPLITA_1" style="text-decoration:underline" href="http://www.killington.com/winter/mountain/conditions/index.html/@@snow_report.html#">continue to be “marginal” Saturday night. At this stage of operations, we will not be open on Sunday, November 4.

At

this time, temperatures and humidity levels are favorable for greater

snowmaking production Sunday night, and we anticipate opening Monday,

November 5 at 9:00 a.m. Skiing and riding will be on advanced terrain

only on Upper Great Northern and Rime trails, providing roughly 600

vertical feet of terrain. No beginner terrain or terrain park features

will be available at this time.

The K-1 Express Gondola and

North Ridge Triple will spin from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The

K-1 Express Gondola will provide uploading and downloading, skiers and

riders will use Great Northern to access terrain in the North Ridge area

and will return to the K-1 Express Gondola via a short walk on the Peak

Walkway.

loon and sunday river are going to be open this next saturday.

anyone know the setup at SR tomorrow? shamelessly spamming the three theads to find out

Typical T2, Upper punch. I don't think we will have any rails setup but guaranteed we will have something saturday.
