Predictions for next year

i think skiings starting to move away from the ghetto from the streets look. for next year i think its going to be like more about individuality. more diversity of styles rather than just the gorilla steez look. like look at the trailor for ski porn. it just seems things are starting to change a little. its hard to describe but i like how its going if i am right.

anyone else have any ideas?
 
more am coverage perhaps. and hopefully more laidback comps like ygo except better organization...
 
Honestly the clothes can't get any bigger. I predict that super skinny skis will make a comeback. Daffys and spreads with rotation would be sick.
 
id say those old school trick that wane wong used to do were pretty dank, but you never know, I think those leashes that parents use to hold their kids on the bunny slope could be the next cool thing in the park
 
For movies and the industry in general, it'll follow what snowboarding went through 2 or 3 years ago. Like it or not, it's the way things are.
 
People are gonna start rocking tighter pants and more of a "hesh" look. While others will get even more ghetto, I definitely agree with individuality becoming a big role, and I really want to see someone switchup on the 2nd kink of a quad or 6 kink urban rail and ride through the rest of the kinks. and a 270 onto a multiple kink urban rail would be sick too.
 
i dont think we will ever have our own style's cause even if some1 gets their own unique style there will always be newbs trying to be cool and copying them
 
That is already happening. Look back to vids 4 years ago with Jon and Tanner both dressing very similar and look at them today. They have gone opposite directions in their appearance. What we are seeing is that as our sport grows, we will have more and more niches that each have their own look and style. When we first started, everyone had a single identity and it was a way for us to seperate from the traditional "skiers". Now that NS skiing is here and making a presence in the action sports world, kids want to seperate themselves from what has become a conformist look (ghetto). The more we grow, the more niches will develop, like skateboarding.
 
maybe pants will get less baggy... i bet theres going to be a lot more 'printed' pants and jackets though, they really started to come in this year. and as always, goggle tans are in...
 
my friend slid a 50 ft flat rail with a pair of 190 atomics from way back in the day, it was pretty sweet, he was wearing 80's wind breaker and pants too, it was called, and i quote, "interplanetary body gear - surf style"

so true.

i find it amusing that in all these "free" sports, the trends are so remarkably similar. Each sports evolves with an amount of similarity that makes the bickering in my eyes quite humorous.

i actually agree^ do what the fuck you want you shouldn't be concered about gear, you should be concerned about how youre skiing
 
try new things. just this afternoon i saw someone rokin a safeway bag around there neck. he was wradd then i saw him dooah 720 truckdriver. with a side of 270 desaster not too shabby
 
More individuality for sure.I think it's gonna split though just like skateboarding and snowboarding have into like different categories.So like the guys who do big-airs and ride pipe and ski in the x-games are gonna keep doing that and get way way better. the gangsters and hesh kids are going to learn not to hate on each other as much but still shred mostly with people like them. Way more independent movies. More video blogs. smaller emphasis on competing and more on filming. making your own stuff is gonna be HUGE. (it already kind of is). And hopefully companies will start to make lots of money so that pro skiers and everyone else can start to make the money they deserve for the amount of effort they put into making skiing better.
 
oh and Henrik is gonna try a sw 18 but get caught in a cross breeze that will make him spin so fast that he'll be able to fly and see the future.
