okay, all the junk is on the table now. I approached CKO about reconciling our arguement and about the possibility of Predator working with NS in the way that he had requested through this thread so that we pay them. When he was unable to move past the tiff and told me that NS had no intention of working with Predator, I was upset. If you can't understand that, well, I guess that's fine because you are not in my position. But please try to understand why that might cause me enough frustration to put 'cko is a pussy' in my sig. He told me that he would never censor my posts in the forum, and I know that my sig can be a thorn in his side, as he is to me. I acknowledged to CKO on the phone that if he and I lived in the same place or had met, we would probably be friends. But in the end, he was unwilling to work with predator. That on top of him insulting and belittling predator in the outerwear design thread are enough for me to consider him ignorant as well as my enemy.

You will not see anything abrasive from me unless you:

a. knock predator

b. talk trash to me

c. disrespect accomplished skiers

d. talk racism

I think that objecting to the above is acceptable to me and should be acceptable to you as well.

It was a mistake to make this thread, though. I can see that clearly now. I was psyched to see the first newspaper article about us come out, though some skiers on here might think it's cool and learn about us. Live and learn :)

Just to clarify again, I didn't ask for money from the start. All I asked was that companies have the respect to just ASK us first. I don't have a problem hooking up people that are doing good for this industry.

J.D., I'm really sorry that you find it so shocking that I refused to 'take their money' but you have to realize that we're not in this for the cash - we just need to be able to live.

I have been a rider for this company for 4 years, stemming from a visit to their shop back in tahoe city way back when. Along the way I have seen major improvements in their line year after year.

Everyone who talks smack is grossly uninformed, and their ignorant comments reflect their intellegence. I have worked retail and sold many different lines of outerwear from Columbia, Oakley, Orage to Siver...and I have never seen better quality gear for the price you pay.

How many companies can boast an affordable 20,000mm waterproof jacket? Hell Im still rocking my Gannet jacket from 2 years ago becuase the shit holds up to harcore whistler winter conditions.

You talk about pants with stripes on it from 1994, but you are going on something you saw from their mogul only days. Go and Inform yourself with their freeride line, and tell me that their shit isnt dope. Good colors, clean cuts, super functionality. The gear is made for what you need it to do, and it works.

Ive sold $600 Oakley Jackets to kids that come back the next day soaking wet and their shit is falling apart. I think the top of the line oakley jacket at 20,000mm goes for around $600 where as the top Predator coat tops out at $400-$450...

Its unfortunate that Chris and Mark didnt see eye to eye, but thats the breaks, NS needs to survive as much as Predator. No one needs to take sides saying "Predator is Gay because they make mogul pants and called CKO a pussy" Thats not right.

I am standing behind Predator 100% on what they produce. Its killer shit. And dont talk smack, it never gets you anywhere in cyber-space.

Mckeeman- Sessions is a skier based company. Joel (the owner) is a good friend of mine and when you find out how much money they lose in the skier side of sales, yet continue to fund teams, support skiers and advertise in skier magazines, you'd realize that Sessions is quite dedicated to skiers. Which coming from a punk brand with roots in skateboarding is quite remarkable.

Take your own advice and don't talk shit about things you don't know about.

 
so i got a pair of pants from the tahoe store, and a few weeks later a snap broke off the cuff. i took them in to get repaired, and due to the logistics of how they do the repairs, it took over a month to get em back. i was kind of irritated with the whole thing, but predator more than made up for it. i got hooked up with another pair of pants, plus i got my original pair back when they got repaired, plus a grip of free stuff, and 100 bucks credit to the store, with which i got a new jacket. the stuff i got looks tight, and i only incurred the original cost of the pants, a whopping 60$.

predator made a loyal customer out of potentially negitive situation... good for them. i like my pants and jacket. that i got.

I could care less how much you know about the industry, unless you know so much and are so connected that you can send a free season pass to SNowbird for next season to my apt in Harlem. I like to keep industry politics to a minimum, after spending the entire U.S. Open and then Freeskiin gopen up at Stratton, it was nice to see how much more laid back the the Ski Open was.

kendrick and langely are rad guys who are super passionate about skiing and pushing the sport...the badmouthing shit is gay (yes, Mark even you with the sig, sorry brotha) but that is expected here. They have been stepping up to the plate big time the last few years and have more big plans moving forward. there is always gonna be haters, whether some people think the stuff is gay or not, but the numbers don't lie...there are a bunch of supporters out there!

Anyone...who has anything bad to say about guys that keep this site alive is crazy. If anyone cares about skiing it's the guys that tirelessly run this site. It is not a glamorous job, but you know what they do it...and it's not for the money, its because they love skiing. Not to mention they are certainly doing a good job if guys from predator HAVE to use the site to get their message across. If you work for a company that has any stake in skiing wouldn't you want to help NS out? Isn't NS about skiing? I certainly think it is.
