Pre-season Tune

My skis were rode hard and put away wet.... literally.

What the best way to clean my bases and get the rust off my edges? i was thinking just a damp towel, maybe even a dot of soap. For my edges could i just run a towel along the edge with something like CLR or is that going to damage them? Oh and of course I'm going to wax them after ll of this.

How do you guys have any suggestions for a preseason tune?

I usually take the wax and dirt off of the bases with a horsehair brush. Not sure about the edges.

The rust on your edges is most likely just on the surface of the metal. Once you do your first couple runs all the rust will come off

Hit the edges with a scotch brite pad and the bases with some citrus base cleaner then finish with a hot wax.

There are these magical things specifI call designed to tune skis edges. One is called a Gummi stone. It polishes edges, removes microburrs, and removes rust. Check it out...
