Pre season ritual

Who else is literally ecstatic for the season. I mean I have so many goals and plans and now that I can drive I can really achieve those. My preseason ritual is the normal candied thovex(sorry if I spelled that wrong) tgr films, armada ski videos, Red Bull, just added the greatest ski run to my ritual. I also start to get back into my research on cliffs, La Niña or El Niño to find the best days from former patterns. I look at new gear, research all the new tech. I mean I take a deep dive into everything so I know that I can confidently argue and educate my friends on literally anything.

let me know your pre season ritual

I try to work on my skis then realize I suck at working on my skis and take them to a shop to get them to eye over the hack job I just did lol

I just wear all my gear around the house all day

Currently sitting on the couch watching ski movies with my boots on, resort is supposed to make snow this week, and I should be able to ski in two weeks if im lucky, life is good

Let's see, I dropped like two grand on season passes. My skis are still in the garage from last season. Two sets of new skis are still in the box, need to get bindings somewhere. I have a pair of pivots I've been driving around with in my trunk since last spring that no one wants to buy for some reason. I need to put snow tires back on my car.

1. Get the bag packed with 1 extra pair of everything, since the homies always forgettin shit.

2. Wax the sticks, detune.

3. Change my workout to just Legs, Back, and Cardio.

4. Watch all the latest ski videos, revisit old favorites.

5. Talk shit on NewSchoolers.com

Do yourself a favor and work out a little before the season starts; Leg blasters, trail running, dead lifts, squats, trampolines are all good stuff. Don't forget to stretch occasionally. I also tune/fix my skis and try to remember if I have any broken gear I put off replacing all summer when it was cheap to do so.

Then I typically reverse the benefits of pre-season training by drinking lots of beer while sitting on my ass watching ski edits.

-Check Tahoe Daily snow... daily.

-Check GFS model if no updates

-Check the mountain webcams for conditions

-Stare at the kirkwood trail map longingly like this:1017992.jpeg

-Do at least one gear fit check

-Scrape and brush my skis

-Ride around on Google maps or fatmaps and check out ski areas I'm interested in

-Check instagram for mountain updates (especially Sierra this year...)

-Check Newschoolers for cool new ski videos or nonsensical forum drama

At work, I start watching the snow cams, Open Snow & NOAA obsessively. I am getting absolutely no work done. Visiting EVO/Backcountry twice a day, curate my "Wishlist Cart" so that wifey sees all the things I want in all the popup adds and side bars in our google ads/youtube adds.

At home, more of the above activity + getting all my ski gear out to just look at. Clip in to the skis in the livingroom and do a few spins, much to the dissatisfaction of our downstairs neighbors.

Lately, I have been watching stomp it tutorials on youtube with the Mrs. She's taken up an interest in riding park and got park skis last winter. So it gets her stoked to try new stuff and honestly I pick up some good stuff too.

Beyond that, just come on here and read stuff and pester my friends that ski with ski themed bs.

Ready to get shreddy this thanksgiving, yeeewwwww!
