Just curious how many of you are still around. I feel like so many of the old school favorite NS heads vanished over the years. Sad. Pre-recoders unite.
 
didnt make my original account till first month of 2004, so that being said, I don't know what "the way ns used to be" was like.

it seems that more and more of the veterian members are leaving. My origional account is only from 2002, so allas i am not a pre 2001er
 
Haha, I knew of NS and browsed it a lot, but I was always a guest. Conversation scared me. Man, that was like 9th grade. I think I made my account a few months after the recode.
 
Yeah I browsed NS for what I'd guess was for like 2 months or so. When I first came to the site I didn't even know forums existed on it!!! I only came for the sick videos and pictures. Someone from the original K2 Ski Gabber had been spamming the forum with some word of this new skiing website (NS.com). The site had JUST been started. I was intrigued either way.

I remember one day I accidently clicked into the forums and I realized that I had unlocked something special. A community where a bunch of ski bums talked about skiing and everything in between. December 2001 I joined. Now here we are. I was only 14 at the time haha.

I remember getting hated on by the elders for being so young. I remember the first time I got pwned by skipimp_. I remember Freeride Zone (yeaaa Gene!). I remember the first time I actually laughed out loud while on the computer--damnit TAK where are you when NS needs you most?!?. I remember the first time I met an NS'er Darryl (his kunt) when he came up to me at Winterton's underground jam at Mt Snow beacuse I had a NS hoodie on (the original blue, you know it). Since then I've met so many goddamn awesome people from this website. Its pretty damn funny. Word up.
 
I remember checking out this site a few times in between when it was that skier logo, and when it was the graffiti NS logo. Then I picked up snowboarding for a while, came back to skiing and now here I am.
 
I was on here a bunch pre-code, just didn't make a username until after it. Back in the good old days of Freeridezone, Freeskionline and a few other sites that I can't even remember the names of.
 
For the first 3 years I had no clue forums even existed. I just went on and looked at pics. Eventually i stumbled upon them and made a name

i visited it for a couple of months then finally joined. alli remember is the first post i wrote, phil owned me and i was pretty upset ahhaha
 
Haha, where the fuck is TAK? I also have one of the hoodies, I was so stoked to get one that had a skier on it that I wore it for a week straight at school. Still have that bad boy somewhere, I bust it out occasionally.
 
tak seems to show up a couple times a year in the PPP and post for a week or so before he disappears again.
 
oldschool ns was ballin, although I wasn't around wayyyyyyy back in the day. I've been on here for like 5 years, crazy how long that is. The best is when somebody brings back a thread from like 2002ish and it shows up in mythreads haha
 
yeah, I normally just spend most of my time in the movies/pictures section, I've just started to venture over to the forums section.

To be perfectly honest I didn't even realize that this whole aspect of NS was so active. You could call me an uncontributing member, but I care to use my time appreciating NS rather than adding to the rubbish thats on here.
 
fuck...i wish i had joined earlier...i had heard about this site when i was about 11 (which was 3 years ago i think) and i looked at the pictures and vids for maybe 4 months, but i just joined last summer
 
i'm number 6201 (yup, claimin away), and lurked for a while before. I miss the days of alpentalik and lat posting a lot.
