Holy fuck what do they teach you in school these days? Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery

oh thanks.

does anyone have the picture of the very frail kid on all fours with his hand out begging the wealthy man walking by? That's the most powerful picture i've ever seen.

Yeah, about that... tombs of American soldiers were not exactly a part of my curriculum. We focused more on the power struggle and national relations aspects of wars. I might actually be older than you as well, Mr. "-87". It's not like the Arlington tomb was the first one erected anyway.

killing in south africa in 1976. the apartheid government killed kids because they would speak afrikaans in school.

Just because you weren't taught something in school doesn't mean you shouldn't have some idea of it. Probably was in there somewhere. Take a trip down there sometime

Im pretty positivie that you dont even know where, or what Finland is and u expect us to have knowledge of a statue in the states? just stfu idiot

There's general knowledge, and then there is trivia. Depending on where you are from might weigh in the difference between the two, no?

From the construction of Rockefeller Center. A lot of student apartments here with this poster framed as they sell it for a couple of euros in Ikea...

taking a few classes on the holocaust/mass murder and genocide in general. Such really insane stuff. Bit hard to be optimistic when i spend 8 class hours a week, plus at least another 4 reading hours doing nothing but reading about humans killing tremendous numbers of each other.

i thought this was the rockafeller building being build?

i will look into but you may be right, or there is another similar photo like this i am thinking of.
