IT'S TIME TO TAKE A STAND AND CLAIM WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS!

IT'S TIME TO POACH THE SLOPES OF MAD RIVER GLEN!

Your mission: Meet at Burton Snowboards NA headquarters at 5AM (yes AM!) on Saturday, December 15th in the front parking lot, where you will be met by your contact. You must provide your own snowboarding equipment, outerwear, and layering, however a uniform, food, and transportation to and from the mission will be provided. IF YOU'RE NOT THERE WE KNOW WHOSE SIDE YOU'RE ON.

i am actually against this. first burton is going to make everybody buy lift tickets. why do i want to give money to a place that doesnt want my buisness? second i really could care less about MRG if i am up that far into vt i will go to stowe or jay anyway. i just think it is a stupid idea, burton trying to be cool, and like i said i would want to give any money to MRG, buy a lift ticket get kicked out mrg makes some free money and guess what nothing changes. burton go be corporate badasses but leave me out of it!

first of all, they're hiking, not buying lift tickets. read it a little slower next time instead of hopping on the anti-burton bandwagon so fast.

secondly, it's more of a demonstration against the principle of resorts like this, not so much trying to get these resorts to change immediately as a result of dozens of snowboarders bombing down the hill.

so although nothing will change immediately (and who cares if it even does, because, as you said, mad river isn't exactly the biggest mountain in vermont), it's just a chance for snowboarders to get a thrill out of doing something that 99% of snowboarders will never do.

do you ever make posts that aren't anti-burton and do you seriously believe that the reason why burton has set up this event is to try to be a cool, badass company? If you stopped your hatting for a second, you would realize that this is a good cause.

but i do think that you have to pay for a ticket because its one of the "poaching 10 commandments"

they are hiking because they wont be allowed on the lifts but if you read thier poachers comandments to sabotage stupidity and i quote " II always buy a lift ticket" www.burton.com/poachers/ so i beleive they all will be buying lift tickets. because even if you are hiking at a resort you are still required to buy a lift ticket or it is considered theft of service. so get off your high horses i did do reseach before i posted my opposition.

no i dont think this is a good cause i think supporting the mountains that support our sport is a good cause. i think this is burton trying to market it self to rebelious teenagers by show that it is still "core" i could care less if i ever ride at any of the four non snowboarding resorts. i think this is all just big corporate propoganda and i dont buy into it, you all do what you like but me i will be riding the biggest park open on the east coast right now in big boulder.

well seems like burton has so many entries in the poachers contest they dont know what to do with them selves.

hahaha. the contest is still young though! if people post their vids now, everyone will know what they have to do to one-up them

Well of course, that's totally understandable. But what we have here is consistency of the same brand product, failing due to the fact that it is weak. Not from wear and tear. Understand that. Burton products aren't worth the money. The fact is, there are better, cheaper companies out there. Who truly care about who rides their equipment, and how their equipment performs. Not the mainstream who use it because "it's popular".

I support a company who is about quality, not quantity.

word. burton products for the most part are made perfect for their target consumers. most of their sales are to ppl who maybe get 10 days in a year. a friend told me that he was talking to a burton rep. and the average board is designed to last around 50 days- and thats probly not riding hard on it.

I am prettty anti burton myself, even though i use some of their products, but burton isnt the only company that designs their gear like this. most companies it seems are like this. i like nitro boards, but im lucky to get half a season on a board, and same with 32 boots. i dunno.... i just try take advantage of warranties
