Power Outage!

So, I'm chillin, playing PS2, and the power just blacks out at like 4:00pm eastern.....

So I check on like the local news websites, and then I check CNN....... turns out there are power outages from like Boston to fuckin Detroit!

Anyone know what the hell's going on?!

ahhh, calm chaos is what they're calling it. ahaha. on another note, heres an example of how sad mass journalism has become. you go to websites right now, CNN, New York Times, other newspapers, this is at the top of the page. BUT, you go to CBS, ABC(.go.com.disney.weownyoursoul), FOX, most of their fucking page is filled with ads for their proframmin and they stick this thing down at the bottom!!!! pathetic

Yeah my dad said all those cities are linked to one main power plant and when one goes down they all follow for some reason. But thats just what my dad says, might not be right...

they are actually links all via the Eastern intercontinental supply grid (i believe its the isg) and so what happens is if one part of it goes down then it pulls power from another section to make the impact less. Well more then likely in this case it went to pull that power to fill some void and it jsut kept sucking power, then areas around it went out and pulled more power, until someone caught on and somehow stopped it before the whole easten USA and Canada went under. There are three grids, Eastern, Western, and Texan (which I assume does texas and some of the states right around there). Thats what I gathered from the news media so I'm not 100% on all the details.

Yeah prins hit it right on the head. once one power plant goes out it takes the other ones linked to it down because it sucks off them and overloads and shuts down too. The grids are set up like he said so i think its anything west of lake michigan is safe. and those damn texans do hae there own grid, what the fuck is with those texans anyways thiking they can have there own power. BLAME THOSE DAMN CANADIANS. just kidding

Just an update.....

I coulden't get on NS.com as of 11:30 eastern last night cause, when the power went down in NYC, it knocked out the largest internet provider on the east coast........

it's now 6:30 the following day, and finally i can get to more than local websites!

also funny how there were about 8 more threads about the outage started after this one......

terrorist could pretty easily shut down the whole east coast including canada (big cities anyway) now that they know how. that shows you how low the real threat is, it takes them many years to regroup and do another attack.
