powder vs. park

latley i have been getting the impression that to many kids are soley park rats. i was just wondering what you guys would choose, a powder day or a park day? sadly enough i am stuck in wisconsin for a majority of the year so when i go out west i charish those powder days. i dont get any powder days at my home hill so i am stuck in the park more then i wish. but i know if i lived out west i would rarley be in the park and always taking advantage of any fresh track i could find. it just seems like so many people are lossing that big mountain seen. Are there any powder hounds on this site?

I agree with you...im from MN so we dont get any powder either...so id much rather have the first tracks

powder.. i love powder.. any chance i get to ski it i do.. but the big problem is that i live on the east coast.. so there is none, so park would be my main thing here.. however if i lived out west i think i would only be in the park about 30% of the time.. and as for comparing them against eachother.. don't do that.. you should combine them..because they are two sick aspects of skiing.. if you're only in it for the park aspect though.. please.. stop skiing, for the sake of skiers everywhere

i choose powder over park any day. living in Montana, it's usually pretty easy to find powder, but it still blows my mind when i see kids sliding rails right after a big storm. I guess it just leaves more snow for me

the only time i would pass up powder is if it were like maybe 4'' or less even at 4'' i would probably skip the park atleast for the first couple of hours

if it was for life like if u chose park then u could never ski powder and the other way around i would choose park... but if it was for a day ripping pow i would choose that

ok its good to here that you guys choose pow over park, but just to make a point i was at park city and it dumped 12 inches of freshies, after hitting mcconkeys for a few hours i made my way in for a bite to eat (short half hour break, and the park was packed, i couldnt beleave it. granted it was late in the season but the powder was still fresh at the top. then i when to hit up some more and in the late afternoon i was still finding some fresh tracks were you would have to hike

It depends on where I am. At my local hill if we get more than a few inches of new snow and they don't pack it down it is SHIT. Its not steep enough to carry any speed or be very fun at all. I'd much rather have an amazing park day there. But if its a place thats steep enough to have powder I think I'd take a day of powder over a park day.

Powder for sure. My brother isnt that way. When there are inches of fresh to be tracked up in Heather Canyon on Hood, my brother is still hanging in the park. I figure I can spend every other day in the park - powder days are for the rest of the hill.

I changed my sig because someone thought it was too long,so that makes it a shorter sig,doesn't it?Maybe i should make it longer,maybe not,but who gives a fuck?Certainly not me,neither your mom,I like trees,because they grow apples,and I like apples as much as i like weed.

My conclusion is that we should all put some seeds under the ground in some hot country(like mine,where the heat is too hot to move 3 feet away from the swimming pool)and just let it grow,because when i get old i wanna get stoned,but in order to get high i need to improvise some techniques for the growth of pot.
 
i haven't touched a park in any seriouse note in 2 years its all about powder deep steep powder.

when i'm out west pow for sure, it's not even worth asking. you can ski the park anyday in ontario or after the lifts close, no need to waste a powder day in the park

powder, i was becoming a park rat and than it snowed and i forgot that the park existed for a good month i love the pow especially when it comes in MARCH!! WA WHAT!

Nothing better than floating down on some nice new pow pow, gotta love that. But yeah when it's all tracked out that's when you give the park a run. After all the park will be there all season, true powder days are few and far between in some places!
