Powder Skis?

hey so i have been looking for some pow skis this year and have ridden the Gotamas a lot and the guns once. The gotamas are fun and the guns where only so so but im wondering what you all think the other best powder skis are? im looking for something a little fatter than gotamas that can still rip everything (trees, bowls, groomers a lil) im open to anything so tell me what you like. i want to hear opinions. and ++++karma for people who give really helpful responses

and im 5' 8", 160 lbs.

of skis ridden

Becons: + great in pow and good on groomers. -not so good chop and bumps

EP PRO: +Killer in pow but thats about it, so so on groomers for what they are. - i think tails are way to soft.

Armada JJ: + super fun all over. - not so fat :(

4 front 189 VCT- MY Fav! so fun in deep pow, its a tank and will tear through anything! Switch in chop is to easy. My fav ski for this year! - there big and your legs will get big to!

yeah but i would like something good for riding switch in pow too. gotamas were not that great and although they where at recommended mount i would like something symetrical or closer to it. and i am looking more around 110 115 maybe 120.

wow. the lizzies. such a great ski. i had been riding around on my scratch bc's for a while, walked into a shop and almost bought 189 hellbents. i thought i would think about it for a day, so i took out the lizzies on a pow day. most fucking amazing ski ever made. i have decided to ride my lizzies on EVERYTHING except low coverage until they fall apart.

they are so fun on groomers and i have even thrown down some zipper lines on them

they can turn as fast as a mogul ski but the most fun with them is the loooooong slow curving snowboard turns since its side-cut is like a board.

go with the ELIZABETHS!

O ya I have forgotten about the Elizabeth’s, i rode a pair up at monarch on a 13 inch day!! they are a lot like guns, and there short and flopy. If you want a ski that is good for skiing switch in pow you would want to get a reverse camber ski like the ARG’s or the EP pro or hell bents, or maybe next years jj’s or EHP’s also have reverse camber.

Err, because they're fatter?

110 under waist, I have mine mounted at the 'addicted' line and they are sick switch in pow. I ski the 05/06 Gots as well and the steeze sounds a lot like what he is looking for. I really don't think you need to go fatter or reverse cambered in CO.

ohhh those are the fruity skis....... ahhhh i was thinkin more along the llines of a scratch bc. i forgot about the fairy skis.....

well than i still say why the fuck would you want those.... but i guess the reasoning is different now.

I'd recommend Bacons if you want a softer ski

Surface Live lifes for a stiffer ski

4FRNT EHP is a good choice as well.

for all the people suggesting hellbent/ep pro, yes they're great in pow, but for everything else they just can't hold their own. A good non-sym, regular cambered ski, around 110-115 underfoot is ideal for skiing pow, crud, trees, and ripping in all conditions. Look for skis like this, and mount back from center, you won't be disappointed

yeah man, im large and in charge and i love rippin my lizzies everywhere, so if your tiny think about it broseph. the only reasons im getting a bigger fatter ski is because im addicted and i live in utah, and because I CAN not because i have to. im really beggin you to try out some of these skis, it will change how you look at the mountain!

look at the amplid colesterone (sp?)

fucking love my moment rubys but their sold out

praxis skis

line prophet 130

icelantic skis if your short

surface live lifes

armada arg i know some people who absolutely love their arg's

yes, I know, I've skied EP Pro's, and they're sick. if you can get a good quiver going, it's a nice ski to have it for pow, but it looked like he was looking for a more all-around pow/trees/crud/groomed ski, which is why I said probably a fat regular camber ski would be the best

Ill sell you my bluehoue districts. They are 103 at the waits. 187. awesome ski. a ton of fun. They are super super light so you can throw them around in the trees. they rip groomers and they are sick in the pow. Full bamboo core. Pretty awesome looking ski too. I have only ridden them 3 or so days. They are in absolutely perfect condition. They come with scratch 120 bindings on them. I will cut you a great deal. PM me if your interested.

Are the line lizzies a bit short for me (6 foot 2) I want a pow ski - am thinking the bacons will be a better choice but the graphics on the lizzies are so steezie! I actually prefer the bases than the topsheets...anyway, what do you reckon?

currently on 177 karmas.

i am the same size as you (5'8 165 ) and i just got new lizzies and they fuckin rip anything... i love um but if you want a little wider and fatter ski then you should get bacons... cant go wrong and they're a tad longer if you think you might still be growing
