Powder skis in the park

upcoming trend?

shit dude, when Salomon made the Pocket Rocket (first fat twin tip) back in the early 2000's it was an upcoming trend to use powder skis in the park.

years later, K2 made the Hellbents which have graced the feet of many people in the park over the years, setting the trend in a serious way.

now a days you'll see people in the park on powder skis all the time and no one really thinks twice about it 'cause you know, the trend is over a decade old now.

One must remember when going from park skis to pow skis in the park, no camber=much less pop. Knuckled many a jump after switching to pow skis for park

Still waiting on ESPN for that footage... Ha ha.

Came in to post that edit of Andy and Pep, but instead I will add these:

Forster Meeks rides One Life's (or at least he used to)

Ahh I see what your talking about. Those kind of skis are really buttery cause of the rocker. Thats the only reason I can come up with.

Yes? You have signifigantly less pop on a flat cambered ski than a cambered one. Not sure where your logic is coming from.

What logic are you using? you're saying the few cm's of camber is going to make a noticeable difference in how high you pop? Nope. Maybe you should try both and realize there isn't a difference

I've been using older Hellbents in the park for about the last week. They're really fun on jumps. I don't hit rails so I can't say anything about how they are on rails.

Pollard has been doing it for years. He and many others ride sir francis bacons in the park. I saw a guy with Opus' once as well.

I'm probably gonna buy some blends for next year if i have the money.. Just because i want a little fatter of a ski. I do really want bacons but i ski in mn so i really don't care and it will be about the same.

I regularly switch between my bibby's and my dumont's/watch life's in the park and need to take a lot more speed for jumps. I'll forget every now and then and case when using the less poppy bibbys

My only skis right now are 186 moment nigh trains. I use them in the park sometimes, but it really makes me wish I had park skis.

I have blends and love them. You can take them anywhere on the mountain and they ski well. They're better for me than the bacons because they are much softer (I don't weigh that much)...which will be better for you since you're just in MN. I'd like to get some bacons for a pow ski though.

I ride the New Lifes, which are pretty similiar. They handle pretty well in the park, soft and fat for butters. Landing is still pretty solid on them, rails and boxes are a dream because of the rocker, surface swaps for days. All in all a good all around ski.

I do, I enjoy them. They get squirrely at speed so I wouldn't recommend them on jumps over 35 feet but the width makes them a hella fun ski on rails.

no.he said why even have camber.

as if every ski was made to be used exclusively in the park.

and if it didnt do anything differently than a cambered ski then whats the point of having a non cambered ski in the first place?

which is dumb.

dumb dumb dumb

If you read back a few posts he was referring to an earlier post that said there is no difference when hitting jumps.

i know, i got that, i can read.

he said there is no difference so why even have camber?

i said wat??

I rode Bacon's all last year in the park and I am this year too. Gives it a really flawy, surf like feel.

I'm on your side. The more I read it the less I understand my post. What I meant is why would there even be a point of having camber if it didn't do anything. Yeah I know it helps with turns too but I was referring to the pop aspect of it because park skiers don't necessarily need anything but the pop that it provides. Idk if that came out right it's late and I'm on mobile.

I ride my 110 atomic blogs with camber tip n tail. then I take my out my park skis. Then I put my park skis away because they arent as much fun as the blogs are. Dont touch rails with em though
