Powder skis for a twelve year old

im 5 foot and weigh almost 100 and i dont know if i should get the hellbents 169 or 175 jj`s or the 172 elizabeths
 
As soon as I saw this thread I said Lizzies. Glad to see you were thinking of them too. Or 169 Hellbents.
 
ok lizzys ARE NOT A POW SKI, they are made for park, if you want that length, next year there will be 172 bacons.
 
the difference between the bents and the 172 elizabeths is 1 and maybe a third inches, that half in inch in the tip and half in the tail not to much of a difference
 
For someone who weigh's 100 pounds, yea they are. You can use whatever you want for a pow ski. I had public enemies and skied them in the pow They did perfectly fine. Are they a pow ski? Didn't think so.
 
Don't the hellbents run big? So 169 is really like a 175? Doesn't that seem a little big for a 5 foot 100 pound person? I mean 176 skis worked great for me, but I'm 8 inches taller than you.

I would say don't go on one of these huge pow skis, but more of an all mountain ski, with your size it will work just as well.
 
for anyone who weigh's anything, no they are not. They are a fatty park ski so they do fine in pow. Just because you rode your PEs in pow doesn't make them pow skis, it makes them(wait for it....)......SKIS. For three super deep days this year my skis were away from where I was skiing, so I used 180 GS skis that were 100-70-??. Just because any ski can go anywhere doesn't mean it was made for that. ARGs will lack in park and PEs will lack in pow, even if you can do it and it is still fun.

Anything with a fair amount of rocker will turn easily thread maker, but

YOU WEIGH 100 LBS, YOU DON"T NEED A 110 WAIST. get a 90ish width one ski quiver I would say(watch life, old seths, kung fujas, guns, chronics, etc.).
 
No shit kid that was the point of my post. And you expressed my point of the Lizzies by saying, (wait for it.....)....... "They are a fatty park ski so they do fine in pow." Hmm, so he cannot use them as a pow ski but they will float fine? That sounds a little hypocritical to me. You need to learn to read better because you repeated what I said. I said that I used my PE's in teh pow, yet they are nto pow skis. Why do you think I said that people use Hellbents in the park? Did you think that I thoguht Hellbents were park skis? And I am going to make my point again that Lizzies can be a pow ski for a smaller person, why do you think Line made the womens version, the Pandora, and market it as a womens pow ski? Because women are smaller, hence it would be good for pow. The Lizzies would work perfectly fine for this kid. I do not often get mad on NS but when someone posts such an ignorant clueless post I cannot help myself.
 
dude honestly if you're 12 you're gonna be growing like a weed in the next few years. if you drop mad coin on bents or something you're just gonna outgrow them in no time. look for a cheap used pow ski and really start to invest when your growing slows down. i bought super cheap skis while i was still growing because truth is you have them for like 1 season and then you're on to a new pair. you could get 169 bents because they measure to 175. you will have a very tough time skiing on them at your size now but you will get several years out of them before you're too big. other than that i'd hold off for now, i know it seems annoying but it's just kind of a waste of money otherwise
