i live in connecticut and powder days are rare especially becasue your chances of catching one in vermont or new hampshire. i already have twin tips should i just give up on powder and learn rails and jumps or should i just keep waiting for snow?
I live in nj so powder is rare and if its there, its normaly to flat of a mtn. to move in. however i do go on 2 or 3 ski vacations where im skiin almost all pow so i just use my park skis
i personally love park. like pow is super fun just going out on a fresh day with friends, but i've done soo much of that in my life that i feel like you can't progress much in pow (unlike park)
Living in connecticut you will not have many powder days. Ski the park, but also ski bumps, maybe do some racing. Bumps and racing will help with your fundamentals and help you become a better skier for when you do get to ski big mountains. I would not look at it as an either or. Ski what you have available, but do not spend all day in the park.
If u got fresh snow u probably have to work a little harder than ppl out west. Just go hiking and go very early. But def not give up on the pow. I dont know what the problem is with park or pow coz u can easily do them both...
ski to what the conditions are. What i mean by this is if there is powder ski it. If the trails look like crap hit up the park. Ski it all, you dont have to be committed to one or the other.
