That really didn't help at all. We need to know your height, weight, ability, and price range for starters. Then you need to say what sort of flex you want, what the waist needs to be, and how much sidecut you want...also if you prefer cap or sidewall construction. So your post right there just kind of made you look like you really don't know what you want at all. Or do you want me to list every fat ski with a twin tip?
5'6", 130 lbs, i'll huck/do anyting thrown at me (im a pretty damn good skier), med to stiff flex, any waist width, not too much sidecut, sidewall construction doesn't matter, and i don't care about price range right now, i just wanna get some options.
I am going Gotamas this year, I hear they are really sick, maybe you can find some deals out there ya know? I got mine for 270, if I can im sure you can to if you look hard enough.
i bought the 06 gotamas, (last years) cause I really dont want a white powder ski and i dont want a ski built in China( this years gotamas.) I paid up the ass for them, 650, but i think I will be pretty happy with them. I have seen the new gotamas and I wouldn't be to hessitant to buy them, they are pretty k2ish though. the graphics look a lot like a k2 ski. I think this is because k2 bought volkl.
I ride Made'ns and there fucking sick... Highly recomend them to anyone. Also my friend rides Gotama's and there super sick as well they are really still and charge the hell of it.
It's big if you're a pussy. A long ski is one that is at least 4" over your head. Buying a powder ski short completely defeats the purpose of buying a wider ski because then you don't even get the surface area.
i am 5'8" and I got 183's. Length depends on what type of riding you are doing. If you want last years 176 gotamas, go to www.untracked.com. They should still have the 176 in stock. I ordered the last pair of 183's. This store bought all the 06 gotamas from volkl, so in less a local shop has some kicking around (vary unlikely in the west) then this is pretty much the best and probably only place to get new last years gotamas. I paid the same for last years as this years, so you really aren't saving any money with buying last years.
chill son. im no pussy, trust me on that one. my parks skis are atleast 5in over my head. and yes i know that big mountain skis are supposed to be big. wow....
fishy ehh? trust me im no noob...far from it. i went to nationals last year but i broke my back in practice from overshooting, yes overshooting a 55 footer. got balls???
Not to be a dick, but one of my friends who has a reputation for having no balls overshot a 55 footer. So if you're going to try to claim how good you are by boasting about your poor judgement, you may want to do that elsewhere. But for your ski choice, I've heard good things about the SV's. I would never put them under the "stiff" category, but I haven't heard many complaints about them either.
hey man, you called me out, so what did you expect? and i never said that they would be too long. i asked if they would be. sizes vary from company to company...why are you being such an asshole anyways?? just feel the need to be?
trust me i can handle a stiff ski. i may have come off like a noob, but i honestly am not. trust me. and sorry about being such a claimer. i just felt i had to be there. haha. and i respect what you said. we cool?
get used to it bro, and buy the goats, 176's. I think that most pow skiiers always talk about having these massive skiis, but I Like mine a bit shorter too and see nothing wrong with that.; I like how they ski.
