Powder announced the Nominations for the Powder Video Awards. I must say I do not agree with many of their choices, predominantly their nomination choices for Movie of the Year and Best Powder.

DANA POINT, Calif., Jan. 8, 2009 - POWDER Magazine today

announced the nominees for the 2009 POWDER Video Awards and Reader Poll

Presented by We Ski & Snowboard™.

"Since the inception of the POWDER Video Awards nine years ago, the number

and quality of ski films continues to grow, demonstrating the vitality and

demand for ski cinematography," said POWDER Editor Derek Taylor. "This year, to

address the demand, we added two new categories recognizing the creativity of

the filmmakers - ˜Best Editing" and ˜Best Cinematography."

Tanner Hall took top honors in 2008

POWDER asks each film company to submit their entries for each category

except for "Movie of the Year." Nominees for the coveted "Movie of the Year"

honor are selected by a POWDER-appointed expert panel of judges after all of the

films are viewed. Of the more than 30 titles submitted this year, the following

five earned nominations for the prestigious "Movie of the Year": Claim

by Matchstick Productions, Reasons by Poor Boyz Productions, Under

the Influence
by Teton Gravity Research, The Massive by Red Bull

Moving Pictures, and Hunting Yeti by Nimbus Entertainment.

way to get shit done Willy...i dont think anyone has ever been nominated 3 times in 2 different movies...correct me if i'm wrong.

Who wins line of the year?I'm guessing these are the lines selected:Sage- the MASSIVE, tech as shit spine line at the beginning of uti.Eric- the MASSIVE 5 to 10 to 30 foot triple.Tanner- big spine line that he hauls ass down and busts like a 40 foot 3 at the end of.Sage- oh, didn't notice he'd been nominated twice. This will be the one with the massive exposure that he slashes like 2 feet away from.Ian- the MASSIVE pillow line in haines.
Well, who wins?My vote goes for Sage.^And yeah where's turbo, that was such a sick movie.
