i dont no about every one but im seeing more and more pow sking in videos (example is push)

i just find most of it boaring inless there jumping or hittin pillows

what do you guys think?

pow skiing is deffinatly not over rated. take your average park rat and chuck them in pow and they can't make a turn. it can however be boring if its only like double over ankle.

its not boring to watch if youve ever skied it. even just watching pillow lines makes you remember the feeling of skiing pow..........................................................

Powder skiing is the most amazing form of skiing there is.

Seeing it is amazing, doing it is amazing, and thinking about it is amazing. Can't say that for any other kind.

if you know how to ski pow properly it is the best thing i could imagine but if you cant then it would kinda suck

respect what is fun

pow skiing overated when: 45 sec -- 1:30 of actual pow skiing

25 min. hike out at the bottom.

it's like yay pow! eh now i'm just stuck on flat deep snow.

i would ski pow more if it lasted longer, and dumped you out somewhere near a trail as opposed to half way around the mountain.

i think it can be great fun, but sometimes its not worth it to me.

if you disagree, more gnar for you, less waiting in the park for me

a minute and a half of straight up pow skiing is wortha 20 minute hike. if thats 1.5 minutes of poking around and skiing really lame, then no

I don't know where you ski, but whenever i ski pow it always leads to the bottom of the lift/a groomed run to the bottom of the lift...

I find that watching pow can be very boring, or super sick. It really depends, If they're just going fast straight down a mountain with now cliffs or anything it's no fun to watch, but if it's Seth doing frontflips of 80 footers that's sick.

you are a faggot if you dont like pow skiing and you mine as well give up skiing for life, there are alot of things that seperate skiing from any other extreme sport out there but when it comes down to it its all about the pow, there is no other feeling in the world that can compare and watching it relates people that are real skiers to that feeling, whether its the super gnarly lines of guys like seth, or the super flow of pollard even just watching some guy ski in talcom up to his nipples thats really what this sports all about, you can still hit jumps on rollerblades and bikes and skateboards or whatever but nothing in those sports compares to pow

Yeah guys the question isn't if he or I or you like to ski pow. He's just stating that he finds it less exciting to watch.

"Oh you don't like skiing powder go die in a hole fag boy"

lol

I like watching powder skiing because I know what it's like and what that current skier is going through.

no dude, i agree. skiing light, fresh powder is no doubt the best part of skiing and is probably better than sex. still, i get bored pretty quickley watching it for long time periods in movies. it's just not that exciting to watch!

Thread creater officially gets "Faggot of the Year" award. Post your address, Ill mail the trophy plus a swift kick in ur panus... You fucking fairy. You are what is wrong with skiing today.

Meh, whatever. I'll hike an hour though waist deep snow if it means first tracks off the knife edge that is Cowboy mountain up at Stevens Pass. Dropping off shit into pow is the best feeling in the world, and its worth the hiking when its available. I should get a sled.

skiing powder (and sometimes the effort to get it) is pretty much the best part of skiing.

but watching it can become rather boring sometimes, but if captured nicely, it can make me salivate.

Riding pow is just beautiful. Beautiful to experience firsthand, beautiful to talk about, and beautiful to watch in movies because it reminds me of my own deep days. I don't really use that word often (beautiful), but riding pow gets me all sentimental.

hence you don't ski pow consistenly other than trees, and no, winter park has the weakest lines i've ever seen. vail has some decent stuff if you get lucky on a weekday.

i hate all these people saying kids that ski park cant ski pow for shit.... it really just pisses me off cus since when is skiing pow hard. Pow isnt even ment to be all show off ish its just the fact that you are skiing pow that makes it so special and the way it just is when you ski it. If anything i like how park skiers ski pow way more than any straight pow skier cus park rats look out for some dope pillow lines and shit

skiing pow is for sure fun, but unless theyre really gnarly lines or pollard style powder skiing, i find it fucking boring to watch.

Wow, are you serious? By the way you're talking, it sounds like you've skied down a diamond run at your resort in a foot of snow. Try skiing down a couloir or shoot with 3-4 feet of powder, you wont be calling it easy then.

are you fucking joking?  pow skiing represents the nature of skiing.  going out skiing beautiful moutains, and enjoying all that nature has to offer.  It's humbling being in total silence, with amazing landscapes surrounding you, as you float over deep snow.  My eye's hurt from reading your question you fuck.  who the hell would enjoy watching an all park movie?  I for sure would not.  I'm all about having your own opinion and shit but seriously believing that powder skiing is wrong?  Just skiing natural terrain and being out in the mountains is so much for fullfilling than going into the park, where you ski a little section of the mountain.  go take a fucking trip out west and ski some pow, you stupid mother fucker

um, correction park skiing is over rated. eventually it's going to reach the point where everyone is as good as everyone else unless they make gaps bigger, skis capable of going fast to clear said gaps and balls the size of watermelons so you can fucking throw down over said gap.

powder skiing is not over rated. it was here before park skiing was, it will be here long after.

pow skiing sucks. so overrated. goddamn.

personally, I think frontside switchups on skis are as underrated as pow skiing is overrated.

And twisters? Fuck, that shit's hawt.

pow skiing videos make me dreamy...

especially the ones with dreamy songs with overcast snowing weather and pillows everywhere.

it's the essence of skiing.

and one more thing:

Eric Pollard.

I sort of agree, i think that pow sking is a lot funner than skiing park, but pow skiing isnt as good to watch
